No wifi or bluetooth after update of Fold5

Friends, I see similar posts scattered in forums, so apologies for the redundancy, but I cannot find a solution.

My Galaxy Z Fold5 has sh*t the wireless connection bed. It all came about after the U.I. 6.1.1 update install on December 7, 2024. After the update was complete and the phone restarted, my wifi and bluetooth connections were turned off and attempts to switch them back on has resulted in them perpetually turning on (see images below).

The next day (after several phone restarts and a network settings reset) wifi connected for 5 minutes and bluetooth for about 10 minutes. Barring those two anomalies and one other bluetooth connection for less than 5 minutes, I have had zero success.

  • I have restarted the phone countless times.
  • I have reset network settings several times.
  • I wiped the cache partition in boot mode.
  • I booted into safe mode. Nada.

Nothing has worked. My one year warranty has expired. And I am afraid to employ the only other/last option, which is to throw a hail mary and factory reset. I have used Smart Switch via cable or wireless connections on every new device (with the older device), so migrating generations of app, system, and data of every sort to an sd card or to my #Chromebook2 has me tilted. Furthermore, other members' posts have shown this does not work anyway.

3.5 hours with Samsung on chat with multiple reps resulted in them basically trying to upgrade me to a Fold6. That and they, of course, suggested the only option of the dreaded factory reset.

2.5 hours on the phone with Verizon resulted in them connecting me to Asurion to file a claim and pay a $289 deductible. This was their only viable option after they learned of a cracked camera lens and minor denting and scratching, which i shared in an effort of transparency.

This was not a dropped phone or submerged phone issue. This was the direct result of a system update, and in NO way at all my fault. So why an i about to get stuck holding the bag?

Does ANYONE have a solution? Can someone explain how i am not protected from a system update that went rogue? Is there any viable solution? Any success using a service center, etc.

My whole house is basically Matter-oriented and while my hubs are working fine, I can't control anything remotely with my phone. My XM5 headphones are only functional with an adapter and 3.5mm audio cable and the audio blows, my Galaxy Buds3 Pro  are useless, my Galaxy Watch7  is basically just a plain jane watch now. And so on...It quickly becomes clear how important connectivity is to ecosystem synergy.

My hierarchy of tech needs is collapsing!

Someone, anyone...PLEASE HELP!

This has nothing to do with update. I have had the same thing happen 3 times. It is a fault with the phones design and Samsung have been absolutely disgusting with their support. This happened to me 3 months after getting the phone. I sent the phone off stating blue tooth and wireless fail to initialize and spin indefinitely. The first replaced the screen for no reason and sent it back with the same issue. I sent it back again, the replace the power adapter again for no reason and sent it back to me with same issues. I sent it back again, they replaced the battery for no reason.  I sent it back again, the replaced a part relating to the antenna, again did not fix the issue. I sent it a 5th time, the finally replaced the main board and it fixed the issue. 11 months later I have exactly the same fault. I sent it off again, they said the main board again failed, but because I have the small cosmetic scratch on the outside of the hinge ( both screens in perfect condition) , they wont fix the part unless I buy for £ 479 a full new screen. The are nothing more than con artist, and I will never ever buy a Samsung again. They could not even be bothered to get my name right, when they were extorting me. They know the part that was broke and said it would be covered under warranty, but force you buy parts you don't need replacing. Be warned the phone has a fault that will break, they know is an issue and replace the part with another that will eventually break,  and they will use small print to screw you over knowing full well, that it is virtually impossible to keep a phone with an exposed hinge without a cosmetic scratch as it is a part you can not apply a cover too.

Thank you for that info.  I have read somewhere else this was a main issue and it was a design flaw. They will for sure lose a great amount of customers due to this.  I have been a Samsung customer since they first introduced swipe ro text.  I'm about to switch phone carriers just so I can get a new phone
