No audio when Fold 3 is open

Hi All,

Issue after issue, my audio doesn't work when I'm using the main screen. Fully open no audio but if I slightly fold the phone just before fully closing the audio works!?? How odd? 

The audio works fine when using the front screen.

Tried the reset/safe mode options no change.

Will this be covered under warranty? I did purchase the phone in Aug last year when it launched.

Do folds come with 2 year warranty? I checked my Samsung care and it expired in Aug 2022.

Not looking forward to getting in touch with Samsung!

Mechanical useless hing.

pressing on poor connectors.

2 Strangled ribbens crossing on HINGES.

Hinges did  not like them

so with closing pressure from faulty hinge .Damaged the poor ribbons.

So the sound is off.

Dead after strangulation.

I have also now joined this exclusive club of Fold 3 members, where the audio doesn't work when fully opened.. but will work when is slightly folded. This is a clearly hardware issue.

Question for the group... Is there a way to just bypass the speakers on the open Fold and force audio to go through the cover screen speakers. It's better than nothing.

Having the same issue now. Also have a Samsung refrigerator with known ice maker problem that they apparently ignore. I think I may be done with Samsung.

Well, I now have the same issue. Has anyone found a fix for this. This is obviously a manufacturer issue if so many people are having this issue.

Same problem here.  Unfortunately just out of 2-year warranty.  Samsung phones are known to have quality control issue.  That being said, fix for this particular issue for me was to use Bluetooth when the Fold is open.  I am going with a different brand when this phone dies.

Yup. The moment my phone is out of warranty...the speaker not working. It needed to be in the half screen to work. They quoted me the repair cost equivalent to 3 quarter the cost of the new phone

..I might as well buy a new one. Avoid all folds in future!

Mines exactly the same still under warranty but EE want to charge me to fix it still! £571!!!!

Just got same issue. Playing sound fine. Closed screen. Opened again within ten seconds, no sound while screen fully unfolded. Fine on front or half unfolded, but past a point of unfolding then no sound.

My problem happened within days of insurance ending.....
