No audio when Fold 3 is open

Hi All,

Issue after issue, my audio doesn't work when I'm using the main screen. Fully open no audio but if I slightly fold the phone just before fully closing the audio works!?? How odd? 

The audio works fine when using the front screen.

Tried the reset/safe mode options no change.

Will this be covered under warranty? I did purchase the phone in Aug last year when it launched.

Do folds come with 2 year warranty? I checked my Samsung care and it expired in Aug 2022.

Not looking forward to getting in touch with Samsung!

Same problem here. The moment I've upgraded to oneUi 6.1, after restart sound doesn't work fully opened, but it does at about 40% open. If i move slightly the side i hear cracking sounds. I don't get how this can be a software issue, but for sure is not a hardware issue. The separate sound option has no effect for me

Same problem. I never thought this could happen with a samsung flagship device . Have book 2 pro and samsung tablet also. But it looks like samsung cannot maintain its flagship devices. I mean this is unexpected with fold

Ooh, that's the exact issue I have. I bought a 2nd hand fold as I couldn't bear the thought of having to factory reset my phone and being without it for a week while it got fixed. I'm glad I did as there were a few things that didn't copy across and apps that would only work if verified. I've not sent it to get fixed yet, I must do that to see what they say the problem is.

is there any fix to this?  what did people do with their faulty phones?  i think the audio issue I have is hardware - sometimes the sound works when phone is half unfolded or completely folded.  sometimes the sound just stops and starts on it's own, but only when folded.

i read somewhere that the hinge 'pinches' the wire to the speaker when unfolded..  unfortunately, mine is out of any warranty now 😞

I just don't understand how this could suddenly become an issue when upgrading to 6.1. I've been holding off doing the update for a while now and after updating a few days ago, it's suddenly affecting me. First it was issues with opening and closing the inner screen and auto rotate, and today my sound stopped working on the inner screen, but works when folded. Is Samsung going to acknowledge this and actually assist us in getting this fixed?

Exact same issues i have after updating to 6.1, first the inner screen went blank and autorotate didn't work, after a restart, those were fixed but the sound is gone, only bluetooth works
