My problem is my hinge won't open all the way now. It has hairs stuck in between I'm guessing the phone heat up and the black fabric hair that is soppose to keep dust out somehow is broken.  Samsung states I caused this problem however I will link a reddit proving other wise.

Please visit this link here ( https://reddit.com/r/GalaxyFold/s/mK6W8s6W7j) Samsung has known this to be A KNOWN DEFECT BUT WONT ADDRESS IT. I THINK EVEN IN THE FOLD 5 ITS STILL A PROBLEM. I still have warranty yet samsung refuses to fix it being an internal problem. Other people argued and samsung just sent them a brand new model but me I can't why? I still got my one year warranty so what's up!!!

Samsung galaxy z fold grey green 512gb although the colors don't matter it happens on all colors and models regardless of memory and size please fix this issue or send me what's mine under warranty please.

Same problem, I bought my Z Fold 4 in November 2022, thus less than 2 years old and as of recently I cannot completely fold it open anymore.

The Samsung repair center in Antwerp, Belgium voided the warranty because of a little dent in the hinge which has been there since day 1 so not related with the problem for sure. You know typically when you buy something it immediately gets scratched :-(.

Because the hinge is the only unprotected thing using Samsung's protective cover, there is pretty much always a dent or scratch and Samsung uses it as an excuse to void warranty.

The repair would cost me 590 €.  The only repair Samsung was able to offer was replacing the battery and the display as well! I obviously refused this.  It's like going to a garage for an issue with the hinges of your door and the garage owner proposing to replace your dashboard and engine as well because "that's what they do".

I always thought that Apple users were ripped off but apparently Samsung is going the same path.

Wondering what Samsung is going to do about this.

I'm having the same issue. Talked with samsung and there responds was trade it in and go with the S series phone. I was a Samsung fan forever, but now I'm going to switch brands since customer services as really gone down hill.
