My problem is my hinge won't open all the way now. It has hairs stuck in between I'm guessing the phone heat up and the black fabric hair that is soppose to keep dust out somehow is broken. Samsung states I caused this problem however I will link a reddit proving other wise.

I still have warranty yet samsung refuses to fix it being an internal problem. Other people argued and samsung just sent them a brand new model but me I can't why? I still got my one year warranty so what's up!!!

Did you ever get it fixed? I sent mine in like almost a month ago had to put it in maintenace mode, I think they just take the hard drive or whatever or replace the data and put it on a new phone because my phone had the new plastic on it but it had all my data on it when I exited maintenance mode. When I called the Samsung customer support nicely and you gotta be a little firm and come correct because its their DEFECT. You must bring up its a KNOWN DEFECT and provide them this link or just say its on reddit it explains how its a samsung defect. They accepted it and I shipped it they received it the next day very quick they said itll take up to 15 days however after the 5th day I called it got delivered the next day however there was a delay so it took 2 days because it got rerouted to the nearby UPS pickup point it would of been 1 if they didnt change it. Anyways I got mine fixed, I think as soon as they receive it they fix it the same or next day but then you gotta call them to expedite the shipping quicker it 1 day air shipping too so yeah.... idk bunch of run on sentences hope this helps.

Hey man you need to call samsung again and most likely customer support is from another country however be nice and say its a known samsung defect, theres even reddit threads on it and samsung knows about it but wont address it, then you can explain that the hinge can't unfold a full 180 because of a design flaw that the dust catchers melt when the phone is hot and it sticks in the hinge and keeps it from unfolding 180, make sure you tell samsung its THEIR FAULT and THEIR DESIGN FLAW, and optional to explain it like how I did and make sure you bring up its on reddit, it explains EVERYTHING ON that thread and link it if they ask you most likely they won't after you explain this is a internal design flaw and how it happens the support usually will make you a preshipped label and you drop it off at the nearest UPS or ASURION store, asurion is a 3rd party "UBREAKITFIXIT" type store and not 100% of the time they don't have the parts so they need to order it from samsung and wait. But if you choose UPS it'll hit samsung in 1 day AIR well from califorinia yes but maybe the top right state no. Anyways explain it right then the support will create the UPS label for you they'll fix it within 15 days mine took 5 days maybe less 1-3 days, I just happen to call in day 5 and they said wait 15 days, next thing I know they ship it out ASAP 1 day air again, but it took 2 days because of reroute to nearby ups access point. They didn't even tell me they shipped it I just got an email for it saying I got a package coming from the UPS app, eventually youll get an email saying it will be shipped back. Just say you got a dead pixel and your hinge is a samsung internal design flaw and go from there, the scratches don't need to mention esp if their tiny which i think they are, its only if the SCREEN is scratched but they will try to do the least work possible and if you mention a scratch and remove the screen protector off the big screen they'll deny you instantly. No. They don't want to repair mine unless I pay £280. They are saying because there are a scratches on the frame that it is consistent with the damage to the hinge and the pink line in the screen therefore the warranty is void and it's tough ***** basically. Not happy at all

Hey you need to speak to them firm and be sure of yourself if you sound um nervous they'll try to walk all over you, just must explain the hinge is a KNOWN samsung design flaw DEFECT that they wont address also bring up the reddit post and say it EXPLAINS ALL OF IT, or explain it yourself by saying "you have a design flaw and samsung knows it, its the hinge and the dust catchers melt and get stuck in the hinge when the phone is hot, if you don't know this then look it up, theres a thread on reddit that goes in DEEP detail about this and since its an INTERNAL problem not an outside cosmetic damage, my warranty still stands and you guys are and responsible to repair it" if they keep questioning by this time they most likely wont they'll create you a shipping label either for samsung or bring it to your nearest ASURION UBREAKITFIXIT sponsored stores, however these stores don't always got the parts so just send it into samsung its 1 day UPS air anyways. Call them in about day5 and check on your phone she'll say 15 days or something but in my case they just automatically shipped it to me in 1 day back home but delay because reroute to UPS access point so 2 days. Anyways the point is they will most likely transfer the data to a brand new phone because mine had those new plastic things on the side. Also a screen protector on the big screen is considered cosmetic damage if you take it off so never take that off. If you got TINY scratches don't mention it because theres no way to keep your phone for years without a TINY scratch, im sure mine had one but they couldn't even see it or they ignored it since it made to the repair center.
Once again GOODLUCK, and samsung I am helping the customers out who are under warranty and they are definitely ENTITLED to this repair as once again WARRANTY is still there, so don't close this thread or what ever you might do, as I've seen in the past before. If anyone still has the problem and SAMSUNG won't HONOR the WARRANTY, and please go here, i'll fix it for you by having SAMSUNG do their job, remember not all employees are bad and lazy. And Samsung is my favourite brand I have their entire ecosystem, so don't ban me moderators! Every company has bad or lazy workers as its always been.

Hi buddy. I'm having the same problem. The phone as the slightest mark on the hinge and they saying they won't repair. Even though it's a known issue. I've had samsungs for years. This will be my last one. I'll be taking it further. Even if it means small claims.

Yes mate it's totally unacceptable for a phone worth over a thousand pound. I think I'll be making another call to sky tomorrow who my contract is with and explain to them I'm going for a money back from the bank and not paying for something that is broke and is not my fault.
So looks like I've gone full circle and back to square 1. I've also emailed BBC watch dog again cos this is just a complete scam
