Unacceptable! A year after purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, we're encountering a frustrating issue: the phone automatically shuts down upon unfolding. This seems to be a widespread manufacturing defect affecting numerous users, particularly those from the August 2022 batch. Despite reaching out to Samsung support, we're shocked to be quoted a hefty repair fee of 27500/-. What's more disappointing is the lack of communication about any insurance coverage or post-purchase support. We implore Samsung to take responsibility for this issue and provide a fair resolution. Consumers shouldn't have to bear the burden of a faulty product, especially one of such high value.

Samsung is also repeating the same mistake which Nokia did. Customer support is very important as they directly make the brand. Samsung being a leading brand should not do this mistake and offer its clients a fair deal.

It is not an individual problem but a common problem among the Galaxy Z users. So we expect solution from Samsung.

I have given up with Samsung and replaced my 1 year old faulty zflip4 with a Motorola razr50.  The zflip4 was my 2nd faulty phone from Samsung so now the whole household is replacing Samsung with other manufacturers, shocking customer treatment

Going through this myself. Phone goes off when folding they're saying because of a puncture mark that's not visisble to the naked eye they won't repair under warranty.
The guy on the phone blatantly lied and told me that they've not had any issues like this.
I'm seething seeing all these messages. We need to out them all over social media they're scamming us.

I've been advised to go to the financial ombudsman.
Apparently they will do something. Hope this helps..

My Flip is also a FLOP...

Two weeks after the end of the warranty period, my apparently mint Flip 4 is shutting down every time I fold it closed.

Samsung send some agent to collect it and asked for almost 400 Euros to replace the screen...

I declined the absurd offer and just ordered a new smartphone from a different company...

It's interesting that they would ask me to pay almost 400 Euros to fix the problem of a defective flex cable, but if I try to upgrade to a new Samsung smartphone, the top value for a working Flip 4 is at best 199 Euros.

Not only Samsung forgot how to do flex cables, they also forgot how to install them with connectors to avoid replacement of the screen or motherboard. I guess it's because it's ecological?

I had several Samsung's products for the past 20 years, including 3 different flip phones from the previous generation (GSM 1 Gen), I never had any problems with folding them for years.

With the recent downgrade of Samsung's products and after service, I'll be spending my money and loyalty with some Chinese or American company in the future.

I just hope that they take responsibility for the overpriced, defective devices, they've been selling to their loyal customers and stop obsessing with profits, dividends and making investors happy... Investors will move their money to the next company as soon as the customers lose trust on Samsung.

I've faced this issue Alot, and it's very concerning, paying for a flagship Device that offers a very limited warranty and diabolical repair costs that is caused by faulty Parts or Equipment, I found this thread specifically that I'm currently facing and I'm really concerned because not only is it a hassle to go through such a process of repairing rhe phone in the first place but the expences I have to go through, This needs some attention because the Flip Phone market is rising and I wouldn't want to switch to another brand just because of the Company's poor service and build quality.

I too have this problem where my phone (bought Nov '22) automatically shuts down when folding.

I am so upset now having spoken to repairs and Samsung who will do absolutely nothing to help, suggesting impact damage as the cause, when, as we have all discovered, this is a widespread, well-documented manufacturing issue.

My phone was my little pride and joy, it was a gift from my mother for my 60th birthday, and I have looked after it incredibly well, it has never been dropped (as I think Samsung are trying to suggest). I have been quoted £400 for it to be repaired.

I have now asked for my un-repaired phone to be returned to me and I will just have to carry on using it as it is. In the future I will never buy another Samsung again.

My wife had nothing but issues with her flip4, including the unfolding issue that turns off the phone. Embarrassingly bad customer service was awful. I have flip3 was actually a good phone but today I have the unfolding, turn off issue. That's pretty awful as it's clearly software related. Probably I'm going iphone next.

Both wife and mine broke down, screen, one month out of warranty. Totally useless. Vodaphone will give breakdown cover for every phone bar fold. Says it all. Avoid. WillNEVER but Samsung again.
