Fold 3 wifi not turning on

I've saw a few posts with people having issues with wifi not turning on. Everything that has been suggested has been tried. Reboot, reset network settings, master reset. Nothing works! Sent the phone to Samsung for repair and they returned it saying no fault found. I'm not silly, there definitely is a fault as it will not turn on at all. And today Bluetooth wouldn't connect even though its turned on. £1600 device and Samsung won't accept there is a problem. Can anyone suggest next steps before I lose all my hair!?

Some problem here - tried everthing - even complete reset of the phone. Samsung even send's "repaired" phone back ... WiFi still not working. Maybe the only way is, to get some IT Journales and IT WebSites to publish the case 😉

Samsung is hopeless. Spread this issue to every platform on phone reviews.

I gave up. After UI5.1, WiFi gone. Need to fix need to replace inner screen.

Followed by audio lost when using opened screen. Not auto switching between folded and unfold. Audio when folded start to give issues, cracking sound that are chronic as sometimes it works. Then the front screen goes.

So definitely a serious design flaw somewhere. One goes, everything goes. Not going to buy another Fold unless they address the issue.

With inner screen still working, I had to buy a new phone fast. no screen means no way to transfer. And I have no WiFi, so no auto to the cloud without using data.

Went to Vivo, Their X Fold 2 not on my shore yet. Went to Oppo, no Gen 2 chip yet.

 

Next is Samsung Experience Shop, service and attitude is very good, trade in, offer deal of latest S23 Ultra. Trade in my dying Fold 3 for only $336 but they do all my transfer for me. Cost me $1,619 with a screen protector and a casing. These are all Singapore Dollars.

I was desperate. It is a Gen 2 512Gb. It is not a Fold. And there are no alternative to get a Gen 2 phone; I always try to buy the Baddest Phone available with the latest chipset. Would have bought any other brand at a blink cos I was so pissed off with the Fold 3 experience. Maybe their strategist feels that it is cheaper not to address the issues with the Fold 3. Hope those who are in line for Fold 5 to seriously reconsider. I have never had a Wi-Fi failure. The only issues I had is always battery. So normally I buy the latest, hope to use it for 2 years and change. Before the fold is a P10 Pro and a P30 Pro from Huawei but P50 Pro do not have Andriod. Before my P10 Pro was Samsung all the way, without any issues. Switch to P10 Pro cost performance of Samsung do not measure up.

To folks having this WiFi problem, it is caused by one of the 2 flex cables connecting the 2 halves of the phone. That cable breaks over time from normal folding and causes those symptoms. Very hard to replace as you have to safely remove the fragile flexible main screen without braking it, replace the cable and re assemble. There's a very high chance the main screen will get damaged when removal is attempted as Samsung used strong glue on the back and you can't fold it too much or it will break.

Same issue. 2 days ago, while i was in whatsapp call, phone restarted. After the restart i can not enable the wifi anymore. Tried to do factory reset but did not help so do not bother. Wonder if it has something to do with last update. I guess phone after crash just disabled the wifi or maybe as other says, wifi component just got damaged ...

it's practically sure. It's the main screen that went off and this affects the wifi antenna. This happened to several people. Don't waste your time with any software solutions. It's the hardware !

Me too, April 29th, in the middle of a Whatsapp video call my phone shut off. Then when I restarted it I got the April 28th update F926USQU3FWD1 reminder so I installed it. Upon the restart after the update both Wifi and Bluetooth will no longer turn on. This is pathetic as they only give you a years warranty in the US. My Phone is in perfect condition too, nothing is broken, no scratches or cracks. Ive tried everything even took it to Samsungs preferred repair and they couldnt fix it. Literally said they had no clue what the issue was and it was unrepairable ? . Samsung now has my phone. Fingers crossed they figure this issue out as there are lots of people this is happening to. If they do, Im turning off automatic updates.

This is a known manufacturer (Samsung) defect.  As a matter of principal, I am filing a Class Action Lawsuit against Samsung as they will do nothing to make victims of the ZFold3 whole.

Same.   Fold3 not working after recent UI update...BOTH WiFi and Bluetooth.  Phone says WiFi and Bluetooth MAC address not available.  Restlet, went to shop, nothing "wrong."  

Seems like it is happening to everyone.  2 updates now, nothing fixes.   

 

Whats next?  class action suit?  And is this happening to Fold 4 too?   Makes me not want to look at Fold 5.  Horrible irresponsibility on Samsung.  Maybe they lost too much money on the burning Note fiasco?  And now don't want to claim any responsibility?
