Calling all faulty Samsung Z Flip/Fold owners - CLASS ACTION NEEDED

Enough is enough. 

Despite what Samsung says in response to user complaints, the crease/crack along the fold of our Flips and Fold phones ARE a common problem irrespective of whether occuring within the 1st year of ownership or shortly thereafter.

Let's call it what it really is: A component defect. 

It's very disappointing, irresponsible and dodgy of Samsung to deem the issue as 'user damage' to evade accountability and foist hefty repair costs upon the user.

How many of you flip/fold owners have worn the burdensome frustration and inconvenience of having your phone fixed in the early days of ownership? How many of you have felt you've had no choice but to pay for Samsung for the repair, or, write off the cost of your phone entirely and buy a new more reliable phone to replace it??

The crease/crack in my phone appeared out of the blue through absolutely no fault of my own. I know I am not the only one.  Laying the blame at my feet is utter rubbish.

At the very least, a smart phone should endure 3 years of good use.  Not 2 weeks, 6 months or 1.5 years.

Even if Samsung says that the phone was broken because of ‘user damage’, one must look at the structural integrity of the phone itself and question how it could so easily be damaged by users so early on in the phone’s life.

For those of you out of pocket for a repair and/or the cost of an unusable phone plus a new one, let's band together and launch a worldwide class action lawsuit against Samsung for this issue and get our money back.

I know they've been other community members who've complained or mentioning class actions elsewhere within the community (I among them) so i think it's time. 

Enough really is enough. 

Please respond here and to any other post regarding class actions on this website and elsewhere to further this cause.

At this point I won't buy another samsung phone. The way they are handling this is just careless and without the best interest of their customers. I'm done. Unfortunately I'm stuck for a while because t-mobile won't let me pay my phone off early without losing the rest of my bill credits for the trade in I did for this piece of ****.  Good luck. Hopefully if we all keep posting something will give.

Currently I am on my third zfold 4. First 1 lasted 6 month the phone started overheating then the wifi and Hotspot would no longer even start unless the phones was folded shut and last but not least I go to unfold my phone and I hear a sick little crack sound and a cracked right down the middle of the screen and goes black. The second one did the same thing when I unfolded it 1 day after only 3 months. Now I am on my third and I'm using a fold counter app to see how many I get. The first font got to 7000 the second got to 4000. Samsung said my warranty wouldn't cover it and it would cost over 500$. That big screen cracking because you unfold your phone is in no way the customers fault. Those brushes in the hinge just trap dust and let it accumulate until it gets piled up and when you unfold your phone that dust is pinned between the hinge and your very thin glass screen and pushes it up with enough force to Crack. Its literally unavoidable if you own one it will happen eventually. This is a massive design flaw and Samsung has the gall to place the blame and cost on us. What's the point of a warranty if they don't abide by it and throw it out the window whenever they so choose.

With insurance your still looking at 250$ for a replacement that's probably in worse shape than yours then they look at your device you sent in at a microscopic level to Find a tiny microscopic scratch so they can bill you for another 500$ and blame it on you.

 I have had the same issue. I am still under warranty and my phone has never been dropped, been in a protective case from purchase. Barely 12 months in and my phone developed a thick black line down the middle of the phone and one side of the screen totally irresponsive. Samsung told me they would fix but will charge me. I do not agree that I should pay anything for repairs. Simply just opening and closing the screen caused the defect. I am so angry that I have a very expensive paper weight.   Every social media platform I can get my frustration out onto I will be doing so. I have been with Samsung for 15 years and so disappointed in how they treat customers.

Mine was broke after 6:07 months and I was locked up in jail for most of that time so mine wasn't hardly used at all. Both screens phone is junk if the screen to were good and not so faulty, then the phone would be awesome.  But it's not, it's broken and I had to replace it. I didn't know there was a lawsuit. And by the time the I got out of jail and stuff, my warranty had expired and the cost of the screen replacement was too expensive. It might as well just bought a new phone. So we did I hope I get refunded.

I've had my flip 4 for around 6 months and the hinge makes a cracking noise each time I open it and the screen is bubbled and cracked !! I'm livid . 

I want a refund.  I'm stuck in a contract . I cannot send my phone off for repair I need it for work and why the hell should I,  when this is clearly a manufacturing error !!

 

How do we can class action started??

Let's do this! I'm on phone number 4 in 8 months! This time Samsung tells me mail it in we will diagnose it and get a hold of you. I said are you sending me a replacement.  He tells me no. I asked then how are you going to get a hold of me. He says check your email, I said I can't I won't have a phone. The jerk says not my problem! That set me off! Every ***** time I have to get a new phone I loose accounts,password, pix! My daughter got married last weekend I opened my phone and it was oh I was *****. Let's do it
