My phone provider is sending me a new SIM next week and has advised me to do a backup. I've figured out how to backup my contacts but I've also a few text messages here that I'd like to keep. Is it possible to backup and restore text messages?

Many thanks xSteveuk. I managed to back up my messages to an attached USB drive and then I successfully restored them. But FWIW the backup process told me that it'd encrypt my backup and that I'd need to be logged into my Samsung account for them to be decryptable. Is there any way to avoid the encryption/decryption process? e.g. if I couldn't be logged in for some reason?
