App-customized notification sounds not working on Galaxy Z Fold 6

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, app-specific notification sounds are not working on Galaxy Z Fold 6 with One UI 6.1.1. For example, Facebook notification sound set by Facebook app or Google Meet call receive sound does not work as it used to on previous Samsung devices like S23 Ultra.

If this is an issue with OneUI 6.1.1, I cannot tell. I tried to activate "Manage App Notification Categories" in the Settings app, however in the notification menu only "Default Notification Sound (Spaceline)" is selected.

Any workaround to solve it and activate app-specific notification sounds?

Hi there, you can try go to apps notifications menu and make sure that sounds and vibration is turned on also you can Go to Settings > Sound and vibration > Notification sound. You can choose from pre-loaded sounds or add your own by copying it to the notification folder.

Same problem I have even followed the instructions provided by others  but am still not getting the option to set different sounds to different apps

@ericl1334: To begin with, please head to Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Manage notification categories in each app > On 

Now, head to Settings > Apps > Select an app > Notifications > Notification categories > Select a category > Sound, and assign a custom notification sound from here. Repeat the process for any other categories, then apply the same steps to other applications, and you should be good to go.

I had to restart my phone then it started working

Thank you all for your replies.

I figured that out. I had to uninstall and reinstall the corresponding app and/or delete its data, and the app assigned its specific notification tone again.

Thanks for the post... I tried everything listed here to include the restart, then went back and done what Andrew the Moderator stated and DONE!!! It's working correctly. Thank you so much.

Thank you very much,  yes this is the solution for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Once you have enabled the advance settings option of managing notifications category in each app. The customized sounds options is available now. Thank you!!!
