Whatsapp not opening

I have noticed over the passed few days that when I unlock my phone and press to open WhatsApp it just freezes for around 5-6 seconds and then opens problem is no matter how many screen presses it then does rhat many screen presses but on whatever is on the screen next.

Sounds like lag...decrease touch sensitivity and if you can delete and reinstall ur WhatsApp. In case its the app crashing or bugging out

Does this happen with any other apps?

It could be a screen issue, as another member mentioned. You could try adjusting screen sensitivity in settings.

Alternatively, go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Force stop > Clear cache. As a last resort, back up your WhatsApp chats, delete the app, and then redownload it.

For now it seems to have solved it by me backing everything up and then removing it and reinstalling it. 

 

Thanks everyone ill keep you posted how it goes.

No other apps are affected which is why I went for the uninstall and reinstall of WhatsApp itself

Same thing with me on a S24. It started after the OneUI 7.0 update.
