Hi everyone .

I have been using S25U since 2weeks. I noticed battery drain issue while doing WhatsApp video call more. I'm

getting SOT of 5 to 5.5Hours. Otherwise I'm getting 6.5Hours of SOT.

I'm using HD option in display and kept most of the apps in sleep mode. Still I'm getting 5.5hours of SOT.

I have asked for a phone replacement and the supplier refused by saying wait for the update to sortout the issue.

Please someone help is this normal or I got faulty one.

AOD is the culprit here that drains the battery alot turn off the AOD and turn on power saving mode limit the brightness you should see improvement in battery life and put apps to sleep mode the ones you dont use often

His numbers are easily achievable, I get pretty similar usage myself. But measuring purely by SoT isn't the best measure as we all use our devices differently and have different connected devices, WiFi or mobile connections etc. Generally speaking, things that tend to drain battery more are being on mobile data Vs WiFi, weaker signal strengths, dual SIM usage, higher screen brightness, multiple connected Bluetooth devices etc. All these factors will vary vastly per user, so no comparison is easy to measure like for like without a thorough verification of each users particular circumstances.

I do not expect to have my integrity challenged. I gave you what I am getting and expect that to be taken in good faith.

But as you insist, here you are.

47% has given me 8 & half hours Screen On and almost 4 & a half screen off.

Scaled up to 100% gives around 18 hours Screen On and about 9 hours Screen Off on a full charge.

Many of us find it better to not use SmartSwitch for apps but to bring them through from Play Store / Galaxy Score to ensure you have the correct version for your device.

Photos etc and messages call logs etc fine.

Your battery life is phenomenal. Mine is poor. I used smart switch for everything. I think I'm going to bite the bullet this afternoon and factory reset and restore from back up.

I would recommend Factory Data Reset then restore everything except apps.

Bring your apps through by downloading them fresh from the Google Play Store / Galaxy Store as appropriate.

It's NOT AGGRESSIVE.
If you're paying £1500+ for a Phone. It should be working PROPERLY.
There may well be a good reason for the Battery USAGE. ( i.e. FAULTY BATTERY ), but if he leaves it to late, he may have problems getting the retailer to replace it.
And if the retailer is being AWKWARD now. What are they going to be like if it's a more Serious problem further down the line 🤔.
I think it's better being SAFE, than SORRY.
NOTHING AGGRESSIVE ABOUT THAT.

Thank you very much for your advice. So I would need to write down every app I have , reset and then find them all one by one and install? That sounds painful 😣
