I went from s22 to s25 ultra, so 3yrs between the two of them, the Ultra is a completely different beast, my expectations were to see an improvement in what I've already got, but also that some improvements were not necessarily to my taste, I'm still learning about the phone...but what a great experience it is giving me!!!

I guess also in terms of rhe 'same software in a few months'... strictly that is true... but not everything will make it across the porting to older phones.

True there will be oneUI7... but simply some functionality and features will remain unique and the raw processing power may not be available.

Oneui7 is being rolled out to the A15 series for example... but it will likely be UI and basic features only. The powerful features, translation, other things that need power in quantity will not be able to get the update. I think the s21 range will be the oldest to receive this new ui7 update.

Hello 👋 @GothicEmma

Congratulations on the purchase of your new phone.

I do not personally own a Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra, but I have had plenty of hands on with a few, when considering whether to change from my current phone which is the Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra.

I purchase my phone's directly from Samsung UK.

I'll start by stating what I've said before in that my personal preference is the more boxy frame, however I do appreciate the new lines of the new phone in regards to the corners and nkw flat sides, and can understand why some do like that change.

Pop a case on either phone and both are addressed in regards to the corners.

The phobe is made to a high standard in both materials and workmanship.

The flat display and improved anti glare coating is noticeably improved.

I'm impressed by the new Samsung One Ui⁷ to which I'm looking forward to downloading it onto my s²³ Ultra and s²⁴ Ultra.

Right now I'm staying with my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra.

I'm sure we'd love to hear your initial thoughts once you've set the phone up and had a few days to get to grips with your new shiny phone.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

True the s25 has reduced by a whole £50 due to loss of the Bluetooth spen i bet lol. But there was a time most would never pay over £1000 for a phone and some still won't and the fold prices are still TDH for what they are. Considering there internal screens are still not as strong as they promised they would be after 6 years still trying to get it right.

I agree on prices, but again we're talking about the S series and pricing wise, they haven't increased. In fact you joke about bluetooth costing less, but you do realise that they never even had an S-Pen 4 years ago and were still charging the same prices? How about some acknowledgement Samsung were actually being overly generous?

Yeah ok no worries. You have made your mind up from hearsay and I guess that is fine by your choice.

I can tell that you have had at the most 5 or 10 minutes with the phone, because nearly everyone that has upgraded and had a chance to evaluate the phone properly are really impressed.

Just to further say that I came from an s23u that I really loved, and didn't really see the reason for upgrading. I was suffering buyers remorse and questioning why i did it a few days before the phone arrived. I also took note of the youtubers and felt quite pessimistic.

But then hands on, after 3 days of use, and the improvements that have been made are not always on the spec sheet... but can be in daily use... are seriously impressive. None moreso than the battery life, processor power in use, and rhe camera has a lot of software improvements as well as the reported incremental changes in hardware.

Let's leave it there.

Smiley.

Well yeah some of the newest AI features will be missing from the update on older phones for obvious reasons but tbh I can do without all that anyway. I will definitely be opting out of there charges when they ask for payment for AI next year for sure. Industry is going full throttle on AI without fully paying attention to what it means for people's jobs and even us as a race. Haven't these folks even seen Terminator films? Once AI learns everything about us it can what's to stop it thinking humans are the problem just get rid of them? But hey you can stop stupid I guess 😆

Actually I've spoken with Gemini about this quite extensively. She assures me this is highly unlikely to happen, for real! 😂 😂 😂
