I just ordered a 256 GB S25 to replace my 7 year old  Moto G6 phone.

Do folks have any tips for configuring the new phone including transferring all apps and data from the  old phone and configuring the new phone for maximum battery life in standby?

@SC489: For transferring data from your old phone to your new Galaxy S25, I recommend using Smart Switch. This app comes preinstalled on the S25, and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on your Moto G6. For further information, please take a look at the link below.

Battery wise, please note that the S25 will go through an optimisation process in the first few weeks whereby it will learn your usage patterns, and adjust accordingly to provide an improved battery life which is tailored to you. As a general tip I recommend closing applications when not in use via the Recents button in your Navigation bar, and switching off Wi-Fi, Mobile data and Bluetooth while the phone is idle.

After maybe a week, the phone will learn how you use it and battery life will increase. As said, smart switch is the samsung tool to transfer things over. For extra battery life, you could go to device care, performance profile and set it to lite for extra battery. It will reduce the performance a little bit even then, it'll be faster than an s24. It's kinda like power save mode except everything keeps working as usual, just the peak performance is lowered.

As a security thing. Make sure you have a good phone code and setup biometrics. You can enable auto blocker in security settings to harder your device, maybe even turn on maximim restrictions too to extra protect your device. In the same security menu, press lost device protection. Make sure find my mobile is on with all the 3 boxes turned on, back out, press theft protection, turn all of that on.

Means if someone steals your phone, you can track it and it'll auto lock on them. Plus identity check protects you from someone stealing your phone even if they know the unlock code

Hello 👋 @SC489

As I'm moving from a Samsung to Samsung phone I use Samsung Cloud.

And then Samsung Smartswitch to move across my Gallery.

May I suggest to perform a forum search as you may find already existing threads with help and advice within.

There will be also tutorials on YouTube.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎
