Major issues with OneDrive sync after migrating from S23 Ultra to S25 Ultra

In the past the transfer process from old phone to new phone has been flawless, but with the S25 I'm running into major issues. I've got sync on in the Gallery but it isn't syncing. The last photo to sync was on my old phone.

I've tried clearing cache/data but that has made things worse. When I go into the Onedrive app most of the photos are icons and when I click on them it says they've moved or I don't have permission to view them. On this Day is also not working and the Onedrive photo widget has disappeared with no option to re-add it. I've also noticed when I send a notification to log into my Microsoft account it goes to my old phone but not my new phone. I'm also not sure why I have multiple folders with the same name, like 2 camera folders. I've tried syncing both but it makes no difference.

I'm getting extremely frustrated and I can't find an answer. This is the first time I've been frustrated with the Smart Switch process, which is probably the main reason I've always stuck with Samsung in the past...

Unlinked the MS account, setup MS Authenticator and setup 2-factor authentication, then linked it back to the Samsung account. Also set it to only sync the primary Camera folder and not other folders that may contain old photos from previous file structures.

Our issue is similar. I have chosen to keep the Samsung account and MS account separate and only let the onedrive app do the backup for the camera folder only. This way is the best I have figured out to keep everything work as it should.

One other thing that messed up on mine as well was the permissions in the app settings, access to gallery was set to not allowed for some unknown reason. I allowed it access to everything and turned off the option for it to remove permissions from unused apps...

Further issues - I can no longer link the Onedrive to gallery. I've unlinked it on Samsung Cloud settings, the OneDrive Manage Permissions page, and even on the Samsung website account page (an extra link separate to what is stored on your phone) but it still isn't having it. I've just given up now and got OneDrive to handle the backups. I've also spent several hours removing duplicate files from my Onedrive and moving files out of the now redundant Samsung Gallery and into the resurrected Camera Roll, as this was the easiest way to find duplicates and have some kind of order to the file system (I've set it to group by year now). All in all it's been a nightmare, and rushing to reset my old phone to see if that fixed the syncing problem means I've lost other data I didn't realise wasn't backed up or transferred with 'SmartSwitch'. All in all it's been a complete headache and one that makes me wish I hadn't bothered upgrading 😖

You turn on the camera backup in onedrive app settings. And an important note is that Camera Backup can only be used on one account at a time. If you are also a OneDrive for work or school user, be sure the correct account is selected at the top of the screen.

I keep the MS and Samsung account unlinked in the gallery and only have the camera backup in onedrive. See here if something isn't tried out:

That is what I've done now, because the Samsung method is now broken. I've also discovered I've lost my Google Maps Timeline in the switch just to add insult to injury...

as with me everything went wrong when I linked Samsung account with MS onedrive. So I will just have the camera backup on in the onedrive app.

Is this on the phone settings or in onedrive app?
