Can someone please confirm if this https://www.wide-gamut.com/test/image-hdr looks like mine?

The Samsung support claims again, like with the S24 Ultra that they don't know anything about it and Im fed up with this BS!

And yes, I bought it from Samsung.

Face, clouds, glowing light!

You can't take a picture of something HDR and have it appear HDR on other devices. Also those comparison images aren't a good way to see a difference, they are usually just 2 SDR images where one is dimmed

Your phone will be showing HDR fine, don't worry. If you really need a way to tell there is a developer setting that tells you when HDR is in use

That's the problem!
My phone doesn't show the HDR "fine" nor "good", it's full with color banding (See the last picture).

I have even color banding in videos taken with the S25 ultra. (Im on the april update and super hdr enabled)

Tested so far, testmydisplay, wide-gamut, display tester app, plex, vlc, youtube, samsung video player and samsung gallery.

All show color banding to some degree and especially in HDR.

I wrote Samsung Member App and didn't get any answer after 2 weeks, I wrote the WhatsApp support and was on the phone with the Samsung support, and they didn't even know what "color banding" means.

But they also told me 2024 with the S24 that everything is "fine", with the display.

This: https://youtu.be/njX2bu-_Vw4?t=74 shows me color banding on my S25 ulter around the tea pot, but not on my old S10+ nor the A55.
The brighter the display the worse the color banding.

And now Im running out of  time to return this phone, because Im not going to "open" a brand new phone for repair.

If I return it, the store will be so nice and charge me 20% in Switzerland.

So that's why im desperate for a confirmation 😞

PS. wide gamut can't even display the colors right?!

Edit: The developer settings won't help me if the panel is "broken"?!

That website you linked with the images shows glitchy images, it isn't your phone I see it too.

Try this https://www.testufo.com/hdr. Zoom out till you see the pink boxes. Then wait a few seconds, if you see flashing writing in the left box, it's working fine

Honestly if the colour banding is noticeably different on your S25 Ultra screen to your S10+ screen, then it'll be obvious. I have all 3 of my Samsung phones (Note 10+ 5G, S21 Ultra, S25 Ultra) side by side and other than better sharpness and colour details on the S25 Ultra, they all look pretty identical using the HDR video you linked. Just be sure your devices are streaming at the same fixed quality on YouTube.

The picture looks fine on my GF iPhone but Gemini told me that android isn't able to render HDR pictures in a browser?!

Testufo.com/hdr is working, but on yellow I don't see the letters in the first square.

My old S10+ looks like this with the exact same footage and scene.
Way less color banding.

The images you're seeing from that page you linked are not converted properly to HDR on the S25 and this is why it appears off. It's not representative of the hardware, but simply a software graphics mode. In your S10+ it's using the sRGB as opposed to DCI-P3 on the S24 and S25 series. This is simply an error in colour conversion by the page.

If you go through the colour test, you'll see your S25 can display the wider colour gamut your S10+ does not.
