Bad pixels on cameras - normal or a bug, (HW or SW) problem?

Hello, I would like to ask if it is normal for a brand new S25 Ultra to show a lot of white "Hot Pixels" on black photos when zoomed in, as I marked in the picture.

The photos were taken with the lens covered at maximum resolution and with night mode turned off. It must be said that yes, I zoomed in on the photos so that it was visible.

Main lens taken at 200mpx and the number of white points is 5.

Zoom lens 5x taken at 50mpx and the number of white points is 35.

A friend has an older S23U and the main one does not have a single Hot Pixel.

Thme main question is: is this HW or SW (post processing) problem ?

I am writing this question also because since 7.2. when I received the first S25U, I have already had my 3rd one.

1. Blurry photos, the main camera did not focus well - returned to the seller and a new one was taken.

2. Randomly turning off Sim cards to the point where I couldn't make calls - just like in the first case, the complaint was resolved.

That's why my trust in Samsung's quality is quite low and I try things I wouldn't do otherwise.

So far I've had S22U, S23U, S24U and I've never had any problems with them. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello 👋 @Cimbo

The attached photo for me does not really show the issue.

However if you feel the phone us at issues then speak with the merchant who supplied the phone to have it swapped out if necessary.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi, am curious if you see the same white pixels if you repeat a test with the same settings?

Hi, I shot two photos with the same settings and the results are different.
1. different number of white pixels (1st photo = 35 white pixels, 2nd photo = 30 white pixels)
2. pixels are not in the same place

Och, 3week, 3 brand new phones (waranty change), 3 different HW problems.

I am very disappointed and saddened by Samsung's build quality.

Thanks, another user who doesn't have this problem.

It looks like a hw problem.

OK after a detailed review i think, the problem is app Camera Assistant from Samsung Store, and function Auto lens switching.

When is this function On (This is default setting) and I shot very low light (black) photo with 5x zoom, phone automatic shot photo with main 200mpx lens and then Crop. That photo size is 3,5MB and photo is without white pixels artefacts.

But when is this function Off, phone every time shot 5x photos with 5x zoom lens and photo have 7,5MB size and white pixels artefacts.

Important is Turn off Night mode. With Night mode no problem with white pixels.
