So as the title states im having an issue with the base model S25 512GB.
When the battery is above 1% there are no issues, i can connect it to power and charging begins as normal, however if the battery completely dies, then all that happens is a lightning symbol appears on the phone, the phone gets hot but no charge is given making it impossible to turn the device on.
At this point if i hold the volume down and power buttons together to reset the device it occasionally will turn on as normal, start to charge and then die again.
Repeating the above, and only if lucky, will make it past 1% and then continue to charge as per normal.
I've read about a similar issue affecting the + and ultra models which appears to be software related but these have no mention of the base model experiencing the same issue, regardless i turned off fast charging and battery protection to rule these out, as others have stated that this created a temporary fix until Samsung who have apparently acknowledged the issue provide a software update to correct it.
Unfortunately in my case the above fixes made no difference whatsoever.
I have the phone booked in for a warranty home visit repair, but don't really want the phone opened and dug around in, losing all my pictures etc. when i strongly believe this is software related due to the phone being able to charge confidently once it manages to get past that 1% and at 10%, if the phone charge is turned off then on it again charges as if there is no problem at all.
definitely software related right? Anyone experienced the same?
Thanks

Maybe there is an issue, it is not good practice to discharge the battery that low though, you are putting strain on the Battery and modern lithium-ion batteries react somewhat differently to the batteries of old. I would suggest that if possible you should charge your Device when it is between 15 and 20%.

Hi all I don't usually let it go completely flat, not very often at all, but on occasion if I'm out for a long period of time with no source of power then unfortunately its inevitable and upon return home i shouldn't have to fight to get it to charge lol. I've managed to get juice into it now and run a backup to my laptop
