Youtube Music stuttering and crashes the whole time

Hello,

I have a Galaxy S24+ (SM-S926B/DS) with the latest update and a very annoying problem.

YouTube Music is unbearable with this device. During media playback, the music continuously "stutters" and YouTube Music constantly crashes.

It doesn't make a difference whether I play music stored locally on the phone or stream it. It also can't be due to my bandwidth, as this problem occurs even with a 1Gbit internet connection.

It doesn't matter whether the music is played through the phone's speakers or Galaxy Buds either.

Is this issue known to Samsung and is it being worked on? This is really sad for such an expensive smartphone.

Yeah, like I said, it's likely a difficult one to resolve as it may need a fix from Google or Samsung. If you're not keen on re downloading the music again there's a couple of other things to check. Does the music stutter when the app is open (in foreground, screen on) ?
If not, there's some steps to take to ensure it stays in memory to try.

Also, do you use a lockscreen widget ? You could try removing it to see if it helps (have seen previous reports of this on pixel phones).

Another potential fix is to clear any queue and also reduce the smart downloads.

Finally, do you use an equaliser (either in-built or 3rd party) ?

At the moment i don't know what fixed the problem.

I made a reset of the app (deleted data and cache) and deactivated RamPlus. After downloading the whole music again, the problems are gone.

I have activated RamPlus again and the problem is still gone.

I will test this a few days and will report back, but at the moment I think there was a problem with the app data...

Glad it's fixed. I wouldn't expect it to be due to RamPlus, more likely, like you said the data was corrupted somehow. It's good you've reported back as this might be useful for someone with the same issue

YouTube change smart download  every 30 days and it will remove all downloads if you not listening it in that period. I don't know where YouTube saves smart downloads on phone, I can't find it , but I noticed that YouTube automatically download almost one giga different videos or songs, so I disable smart downloads at all, because YouTube and YouTube Music totally mess my Playlist and saves many unwanted videos to my phone. I think smart downloads and RAM plus together could create errors like this.

About one week after deleting the whole data of the app the problem didn't appear again even RamPlus was activated the whole time.

So in my case the problem was definitly something with the stored data of YT Music.

I can't say if there are problems with SmartDownloads in connection with RamPlus because I don't use SmartDownloads.
