Why Samsung will never release oneui7 the same time as S series devices as apple

I’m convinced I’ve uncovered the reason Samsung deliberately delays One UI updates for older devices whenever a new S-series model is released. Let’s be honest—Samsung knows exactly what they’re doing. They strategically stagger these updates because they understand that modern smartphone upgrades are no longer groundbreaking. Instead, they’re incremental at best, offering little more than a polished version of the previous model with a handful of minor enhancements.

By holding back updates for older devices, Samsung ensures that the allure of the latest software remains exclusive to their newest flagship. If they were to roll out updates simultaneously, consumers would quickly realize there’s little incentive to upgrade. Why spend hundreds on a new device when the second-hand market is flooded with older models that can run the same software at a fraction of the cost? This calculated move protects their sales and keeps the hype alive for their latest releases. It’s a smart business strategy, but one that leaves loyal customers questioning whether they’re truly getting value for their money.

I don't think they had any intention of releasing One UI7 stable for S24 series on the day of Unpacked.

Samsung would want the focus to be on the new devices, S25, S25+,S25 Ultra and the teased S25 Edge.

Releasing One UI7 on the same day or even during pre-order would have moved the noise away from the new devices.

Can you think of another reason why the S24U hasn't had the January patch while even the A phones and the low S20's have?

On one hand you have Samsung missed their latest released S phones on the other they intended on doing UI7 in January.

What evidence suggests Samsung missed any release dates? Are you just making things up to complain about?

The Google updates are very hit n miss and they typically all release for all current Samsung devices as and when they get an update. Both my S24 Ultra on beta OneUI 7 and my S21 Ultra on 6.1 got the January update at the same time. Even my Note 10+ 5G got the update at the same time. I'm not exactly sure what your complaint is, but it feels very artificial.

Yes but the none beta S24 phones are still on December and it's the last day of January tomorrow I'd say they definitely missed the release of the patch when as you say your S21 has it

By the end of the summer of 2025 there will be already stable Android 16 out. Will Samsung keep it again for February 2026 until their next flagship? Haha that's funny! It would out them waaaaay back. ....
They should speed up, or we should start complaining

What I said is the reality now we can see from the announcement about the delay of it's release that one ui 7 is held back for older devices to allow Samsung sell its new releases.
