analog usb devices aren't supported

I'm trying to attach an external USB drive (I have a Sandisk SSD and a little USB C to micro SD card reader to transfer from a camera to a phone) and it doesn't work. This is a basic function I have used MANY times on all my Samsung phones. But it is not working on my S24U with the newer UI 7 system installed.

-Developer options has "file transfer" turned on for default USB function
-USB C port chargers fine (so its not debris).
-both external storage devices connect fine to my Mac (so I know those aren't flawed)

This is the error message for the SanDisk SSD & the USB C micro SD card reader doesn't even get any recognition.

That error means "you are trying to connect a usb c audio device that doesn't have it's own dac in it".

Aka, port seems dirty as your usb device is sending signals it shouldn't be sending to the wrong pins.

The same error often appears if the port gets wet. Means the phone is detecting you connected something you shouldn't have connected. Or whatever you did connect isn't connected correctly.

Hardware thing not really software

2 reasons why I feel like this can't be a hardware issue.

1) my USB c port has been covered by a plug since the day I got the phone which is the day it was released. Everything I do is wireless charging so that Port has rarely ever been used or exposed.

2) prior to the recent UI 7 update, I transferred files this way regularly.
