Why Samsung will never release oneui7 the same time as S series devices as apple

I’m convinced I’ve uncovered the reason Samsung deliberately delays One UI updates for older devices whenever a new S-series model is released. Let’s be honest—Samsung knows exactly what they’re doing. They strategically stagger these updates because they understand that modern smartphone upgrades are no longer groundbreaking. Instead, they’re incremental at best, offering little more than a polished version of the previous model with a handful of minor enhancements.

By holding back updates for older devices, Samsung ensures that the allure of the latest software remains exclusive to their newest flagship. If they were to roll out updates simultaneously, consumers would quickly realize there’s little incentive to upgrade. Why spend hundreds on a new device when the second-hand market is flooded with older models that can run the same software at a fraction of the cost? This calculated move protects their sales and keeps the hype alive for their latest releases. It’s a smart business strategy, but one that leaves loyal customers questioning whether they’re truly getting value for their money.

The S25 series devices will come out of the box with One UI 7.

You can't really compare iOS to Android.
iOS is basically the same software throughout its ranges.
Where Android being an open sourced platform has many variations.
Including in the models they do. Different regions have different specifications and requirements, with different countries have certain rules that need to be met.
Apple is one size fits all and can release an update everywhere.
With the variations in Android, it means a more staggered release. This also means any issues that arise can be fixed before the next region or model is updated

The newest models will always be updated first, in part because the software is made and ready for them. The lower or older devices will need testing before releasing updates

Don't forget as devices get older they need less fixes, as all issues would be ironed out over time. So don't need as many updates

It doesn't explain why there is no One UI 7 update for the S24 series. In terms of hardware, the Snapdragon Elite series may be more efficient, but it is not radically different from what is in the S24 ultra Also, by your logic, Google released Android 15 very early in the year, giving Samsung enough time to prepare it for their devices. Lastly, if we were to follow your argument logically, Google or even OnePlus would not be able to release the update so early because they are not apple

Firstly the S24 series are in the Beta stage. I have it on my S24 Ultra.
At the moment we don't know if it will release at the same time as the S25 series. Might do or might be a week or two later. Just don't know yet.

Google Pixel phones are pretty much as Andriod as you can get with a couple of extra features.
As Google make thier phones, they would probably release in very quick stages. They don't all get the update at the same time. Same as OnePlus.
Google will make their Pixel phones optimised very quickly for the new Android platform as they are designed from the ground up for it.
Companies like Samsung that have an entire software on top of Android will always take longer to develop.
Doesn't bother me as I want to know it all works and compatible when I do get it.

Sorry but there is a One UI7 update coming for S24 Series.

It is currently in beta (I am using it) and it is expected to be released in February for S24 devices.

At the end of the day, Samsung manufacture and sell devices. So it is very logical that they will give their newest and arguably best devices first shot with older devices following.

Also note that Samsung now give 7 years updates on S Series and A series are seeing longer update policies too which will bring them bm broadly in to line with IOS.

Or are you simply complaining that you don't have One UI7?

It's been this way for decades phone manufacturers want you to buy the newest model so put the latest software on it first before any others or it wouldn't be an incentive. The update is coming to s24 and s23 owners within a month or so of release of the s25 just be patient. They always update S series first followed by A series phones. As they have to be adjusted based on the hardware of the phones.

I still stand by they had planned on releasing UI7 on the S24 after the unpacked event, the S24 Ultra in the UK and other places still hasn't got the January update and it's the first time I've seen it fall behind the older and lower spec phones, so it feels like they intended for it to go stable but something came up and that's why they haven't done the January patch, now possibly seeing it with the February patch instead.

And that's part why I think it was meant to go live already, as the devices not in the beta don't have the January patch and that is what makes me think they found an issue and held it back.

Would also explain why the January patch wasn't released for the old software as if they had planned on releasing UI7 on the announcement date it would've made making the January patch for the old software a waste of resources as it would've been replaced a few days later.
