Weird diagonal lines on the S24 Ultra

When the brightness on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is around 25% or lower there are diagonal lines displayed on the screen, mainly grey/black colours and sometimes on other colours. I have attached pictures where you can barely see the lines. I have gone through support and they were unable to sort this problem.

I've not been able to reproduce it. Can you put a screenshot under the same conditions and I'll try to replicate it.

Resolution does not seem to have any effect, it is visible on almost any color to some degree in my case, but its best visible on grey. It is only visible below ~25% brightness, but can get very annoying in the dark.

I have the same issue, no screen protector, brightness is set to low, is this a fault? I've seen on reddit samsung are a nightmare to deal with when it comes to RMA IMG-20240128-WA0000_1000001467_1706413517.jpg

You can see it on this screenshot that I captured and my brightness is not set to below 25%, it's on about 60%. The lines are off-putting, it should be a solid colour.1706439971331.jpg

I think that's a different issue. Have you tried the colour test by calling *#0*# ?

Just tried it, RGB look normal on the test.

If it's visible on a screenshot it has nothing to do with the phone itself. This particular case looks like a normal 8-bit color limitation - simply put it's not HDR so there are fewer shades of red to show gradients and this causes such banding. Even if the display is displaying 10 bit colors, if its visible on the screenshot itself on other screens its not a HW problem.

I don't know what it is, but it's really irking me. I wish I could upload a video to demonstrate what I mean. It shows up a lot on yt videos. It's grey at the side (the letterbox section of the screen) instead of black and it shows inkish lines on the display.

Also, has anyone else got an issue with the video player app not being available on the phone?
