Video player icon is missing

I just got the S24 Ultra and the Samsung video player icon is nowhere to be found. I had never had this issue before. The app is installed but it doesn't appear either on the home screen or the app drawer. This is very frustrating!!

I believe the Video Player app has been discontinued as Samsung contacted me about this last year. It now seems to be baked into the operating system as you can select it as the default option for playing videos when you first select your default player through the my files app.

The solution is very simple , they divided the video player and the video library to be an integrated video player in the gallery app and a missing video app  . to get it back  . go to Google search box and type "Samsung video library APK Uptodown.com" then click the first site . choose the latest version and download it . install it and well done .

The app you recommended (Samsung video library APK) is version 1.4.22.81 and the Samsung Video Player is version 7.3.41.2 (update on 06/02/2024).
The Samsung Video Player is built-in the S24 devices, so it can play videos from the galery.
If you open the Samsung Video Player app via Settings > Applications > Video player, it can be run independently (and then only the videos on the device are displayed).
At the same time, it's very frustrating that you can't create a shortcut for this app.

This helped me get to the app info but it doesn't open the app for me. If open app is supposed to be an option, it's completely not available for me. I edit videos on my phone so being able to sort through using the video player was massively convenient. 

People keep saying that the video player is integrated but I could have sworn it was already like that when I was using a Galaxy Note 9 of all things. I'm not so much worried about the player as I am the gallery it provided.

Here's one positive thing. I'm just finding out if you click the menu option in the lower right corner of the photo gallery, it brings up another menu that says videos. So you can get all of your videos in one spot but there's no option to sort by folder.

Same here. Just got the s24 plus and really frustrating without the icon.

No need. I recently discovered that after clicking on the video in gallery, then click the 3 dots at the top and get the option of opening in video player. That would do it for me. The only thing I don't like is that the pause and play button is now in the centre of the video a lo Google and iphone and not at the bottom like it used to. I don't understand why Samsung has to copy the worst things from other manufacturers. It's so annoying.
