Media Player in Notifications disappearing regularly?

Since OneUI 7 dropped I've found my phone forgets the currently playing media regularly. The media player widget in my notifications draw doesn't stick around like it did before, meaning that if I pause my music/video and browse my phone for a few minutes I'll have to reopen the app to press the play button rather than just resuming from my notifications. Are other people noticing this and has anyone found a setting that makes the media player persist like before? 

This happens for YouTube, Spotify and Pocketcasts, it doesn't seem to matter what the media type is.

I have experienced the exact same. The now bar is terrible, you end up having to use more presses and go directly back to the app more...

Before the live notification would persist until the app was closed, which was much more helpful.

So, it seems this is just the design unfortunately

Samsung music widget one ui6 has problems to ,when listening to music through ear buds for say 10 minutes and then decide you want to go back to it later. I always close the app and swipe the music notification . Then when going back to it later and pressing play on the home screen widget the track starts from the beginning and not from where it was left

Has anyone found a workaround for this? It is driving me up a wall!! I also hate the new Audio widget from the lock screen. So much harder to navigate than the old one, especially if you're driving and just trying to switch songs or rewind a few seconds

Same here. So much hate for music listeners in ui 7... Only solution I've found is restarting the phone....or throwing it in the trash and buying something else, which is something I'll do very soon if we don't get fixes for all of trash UI

I just got the update, and, unfortunately, this is a major issue. I watch YouTube and pause frequently to take calls during work, and every time I now need to go back to the player to start the video again. It is so frustrating. Same goes for the lock screen widget. Media control was perfect in OneUI 6.1, it minimized friction. Why they decided to go this route is beyond me. They really need to add an option to revert to 6.1 media controls. However I doubt this will happen given the route they are currently taking.

Same for the battery icon, it is objectively worse, harder to read and less customizable.

And who thought that switching the power button to default to Gemini was a good idea?

And why does the large calendar widget now show 2 months with no details/events instead of 1 month with details/events as before, with no way to show the previous view that we had in 6.1? This is objectively, by every measure, a worse experience. And if you try adjusting the size of the widget, for some sizes, for a split-second it DOES show the calendar exactly as we want it, but then it disappears with no way to actually select it.

In any case, I hope anyone can get fixes for these before I change phones, as this will be a deal breaker.
