Since the recent software update my social media accounts no longer recognise my phone and my Samsung pass app has appeared to have malfunctioned. 
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Are you using Samsung Password Manager or Google Password Manager? Your Passwords should be saved there. I am afraid you will have to sign back in manually. Sometimes the apps and accounts boot you out after updates but on most you can log in using your Google account alone.

Samsung password manager im using . Its saved my current password but when I go on my social media and try my password it says its not recognised and it was working perfectly fine pre the update . But after a time it says my device isn't recognised on the social media account even though its the same device I always use

If you type it manually does it work

Nope it just says this device isn't recognised even when I put in the correct password . Im going round in circles on my socials to rectify it with no luck. But like I said pre update it worked fine afterwards 🤷🏼‍♀️🤯

Is that via some app or Web version? Update will not alter your passwords

Did you clear the cache on your phone post the update? You can also can clear the cache individually for every app.
You can go on Settings> Apps> press on every app> Storage and at the bottom of the screen you will find Clear Data and Clear Cache. Clear the cache as it can solve some issues. If it doesn't work, uninstall and install the app from the Store again.

How come then my phone no longer recognises my passwords for my apps then or my socials when pre update it was recognising it with no issue. My Samsung pass app seems to have gone haywire also since the update

@Star_girl suggestion will hopefully clear the issues you are facing. But the password stay unchanged by the update
