Should you have this enabled?

Hi all,

On Gmail, head to your settings. There's something called 'Dark web report,' which starts monitoring to get alerts and guidance if your info is found on the dark web.

Should this be enabled?

Should this be enabled? If not, why not?

Should you ever add your individual number as part of the backup/2-Step Verification for Gmail/Google?

Thank you.

And do you have a passkey enabled? It doesn't really matter if you have it enabled, but the option is there if you wish.

I've got to find my SIM card packet to see what the default is. Then later I can change it, OK. So once it's been enabled, and let's say I did a system reboot, I will then need to put my PIN in?

Thanks!

Once a sim pin is enabled, every time your phone reboots, you'll need to enter the pin as well as your normal phone code.

You don't need to reboot to enable it, toggling it on is plenty.

OK, thank you.

I've got my SIM package here, but I don't see a four-digit number?

It's usually online. Every sim from the same phone provider usually has the same default pin.

So lookup something like "ee default sim pin" or "Vodafone default sim pin"

Its up to you. It does however regularly check if your email is breached or on the dark web. Plus it runs silently in background. Its good to enable it thought

Thanks for your help. I have enabled the PIN. Although, I did have problems with it (lol), but it has been sorted now.

Samsung S26/3 months old: phone running slow.. really slow sporadically. Occasionally, its fine for watching..say, youtube for 2 hours, then when I then use samsung browser for any reason and then return to youtube the system freezes.. ergo 'black screen'.
I then use 'device care' in 'settings' followed by 'network reset' and youtube resumes after a seemingly neverending 30 second black screened wait.. but with no share buttons etc visible underneath picture, unless I get lucky and another visit to 'Device care' does the trick.
Its been going on for two months now.. its so infuriating!
I contacted my phone service provider (O2) and they swear to me that the mobile data mast is working at 100%, so unless the masts are dropping signal strength 'sporadically' that can't be the cause?
Apparently the UK authority have banned a company who provide premium components for internet masts in Britain which alledgely is causing tech problems across the card, due to phone companies only being able now to use inferior replacement parts on their masts, but I cannot corroborate that, but that could well be the cause?
It's not just me either as I have read similar complaints from folk on 'Redditt' so its unlikely to be my phone being faulty?
The way I see it, the only test left for me to try is to use someone's wifi out for a length of time (an afternoon perhaps?) to see if I have the same problems with signal I guess..?
Has anyone out there been also experiencing this problem and found a solution..???
