S24 Ultra washed out colours

Hello,, I've just received my S24 Ultra and compared to my S21 Ultra the colours on the S24 Ultra are washed out and not as Saturated?, I've adjusted all the display settings and still cannot get the colours to match the older S21 Ultra, I've contact samsung uk customer service they went through Smart Tutor and couldn't find anything amiss has anyone else found this to be the same on their S24 ultra? I'm not sure if Samsung UK are aware of this issue? And whether a software update will solve it?, I suspect it's the new Gorilla glass amour glass which is anti-reflective which is great but not at the expense of colour, I'm seriously considering returning the S24 ultra and keeping my S21 Ultra

I moved from S23 Ultra to S24 Ultra and the screen is definitely not as vivid either. Literally have them side by side and the S23 is more "punchy". All settings are identical on both phones, and I can't find a way on the S24 Ultra to crank it up - I guess that's just how it's calibrated. Not saying it's bad, just.....different.

Hi its definitely 14 days to send in your trade-in phone in my case S21 Ultra, I've looked at the same photo and still the S21 looks better, yes the home screen colours aren't as solid as saturated look at the green on whatsapp it's much better on the S21 Ultra but the main thing is watching say 4K hdr footage on YouTube the S21 Ultra is more vibrant and the dynamic range is better especially the whites of snow etc the S24 looks more muted in comparison I'm not sure do I keep it and get used to it?.but once you've seen the 2 phones side by side you've noticed the difference

That's exactly what I've done gone on YouTube twicked all the settings and it still isn't as good as my S21 ultra very frustrating

I'll check it again side by side, but watching films and stuff seems fine. I watched something on Disney plus looked good.

Hi I've contacted Samsung customer service and the very nice lady did smart remote and took over my phone she could see my settings etc and said everything seemed OK I asked her if she would pass this info onto her manger she said she would the colours are more washed out lacking vibrantancy it's very disappointing situation I only hope Samsung can address this in a software update as soon

I compared S23U and S24U. Buy only because right from gey Go, i noticed those colours washed out and not as vivid. When you put those two side by side, it is even more obvious.
I don't know what person who decided that's the way to go was this king. Like, " let's give people slightly tougher screen, they still will have scratches but less of them. In exchange, let's ruin the watching experience and make screen colours look like poop. Not that samsung was always known because of vivid vibrant colours on their screens, time to ruin that."
What a great idea.
If I only have seen those all compare videos before I made the order, oh well. Still a few more days to make a decision to return it or not. Is not like my *old" s23u is so much worse, to be frank is not and because of the screen, is even better.

I just received my s24 ultra yesterday all good but I am not happy with the display it's not as good as s23 ultra. Will return it hopefully and continue with s23 ultra until I get better display as I am fan of Samsung galaxy since 2017 non stop but less vibrant display is not for me.

Bit of an over reaction, Samsung will probably fix it in an update. It's caus of the anti reflective coating on the screen. Also 100+ other posts have said this.

Some new owners have said that the colours on the Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ series look washed out. 

Have a look on at the existing threads if you want. 

I'm sure this has been sent as feedback to Samsung to be looked at @jzzrathore
