My s24ultra was smooth sailing until the most recent update, now whenever I want to connect anything in the usb c port that isn't a charger will work for a couple minutes then disconnect. I then get the notification of "usb connector connected/disconnected". First noticed with my g8 galileo controller attachment,  but now that I'm trying to connect an external display via usb c to hdmi, it gives me the same notification/error. Hate to have to return this device after barely setting it up completely no less than a month ago. Any ways to resolve this issue?

Below is a screen recording showing my charger is connected while still receiving the notification I'm talking about.

Any help would be appreciated,  thanks.

Hi, and welcome to the community

Can you try clearing cache from USB

Settings>Apps. Tap sort icon (1st screenshot). Toggle on Show system apps, tap done (2nd screenshot). Scroll down to USBSettings and tap on it (3rd screenshot). Tap Storage and tap Clear Data and Clear Cache (4th screenshot).

Can you try a hard reset

With the device powered up, Hold the Volume down button and Power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. The screen will go off. Continue to hold buttons until the device vibrates and the Samsung logo appears. Release buttons. Device will reboot. Once done, please check if the issue is resolved.

Just hard reset my phone, now it seems like it's not reading the usb at all. Charges no problem, just seems to be any other type of usb c connection is not reading.

Followed these steps in the video before making this post and i thought i fixed it, worked for a solid 15 minutes before disconnecting. I ended up switching everything back to its previous settings as i didnt want to mess with stuff i truly dont know what its doing.

Thanks. Restart the phone a few times.

Consider using another cable and / or hdmi adapter ( if any). Check the equipment you're connecting too as well. Try connecting to another USB device such as a PC and check if issue is still occurring.

If you're happy, the cable, etc, is good, then you could try in Safe mode to rule out any 3rd party app or customisation interference

To get to Safe Mode - Long press Power button, long press Power off icon, tap Safe mode icon. (When booted into Safe mode, you may need to turn off flight mode as it sometimes enables itself). Monitor your devices behaviour. If the issue is fixed, then you know it's one of your 3rd party apps or customisations that were the culprit. It's then up to you to determine which one by a process of elimination.

Try a partition cache wipe

Plug into a working PC or laptop or other Samsung device

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/

Failing that, then consider the nuclear option, a full factory reset. Backup first.

If it is still not working, then maybe there's a problem with your USB port (even though charging ok). Check the port with a torch and look for build-up of dirt or debris. Blow it out. Don't attempt to poke any metal objects in there.
There's also a diagnostic you can use via your Samsung members app. Head to the Support section and run the USB diagnostic test.

Thanks for the suggestions, my phone started telling me moisture detected, or foreign object in port when i booted up in safe mode which makes 0 sense .....this phone dont even know what to tell me anymore lol ima just take the high road and exchange this piece of junk as I'm still paying it off and T-Mobile should accept it no issues, its less than a month old. My mother also has an s24ultra and her phone connects no problem to the same usb c to hdmi cable im using. Rules out the cable being the problem. I think my phones just a dud, which wasnt the case until the latest update. I also have very little 3rd party apps and havent downloaded anything new besides good lock and wonderland from the samsung store. Thanks for trying to help.

Hey, no problem. If it's still under warranty, then you have the option of a free repair. Good luck with whatever you decide.
