So I read a lot of posts about the broken vivid mode and washed out colors and I thought I can live with it. But if it affects the camera pictures , then am not happy.

A very simple test opened my eyes.

Test 1: Just take any other phone (let's try any Samsung Sseries or iPhone or anything) and search same Google images on both the phones and compare, s24 ultra images are really dull . Sample pic attached for skin color tones

image

Same Google image ( top iphone/bottom s24 ultra) and the difference can't be ignored.

Test 2.
Take a picture / selfie with s24 ultra and send or share it to another phone and see how the pic quality improves instantly. Pics taken in s24 ultra are definitely good quality but are displayed very dull or whitish in the phone , whats the point then..

I think they should have a natural mode for those who want it and a vivid most for those like us who want saturation the way they have done for years. If they want a more natural mode they should just add a third setting. Even on ios you can make the screen super vivid if you want to but I don't want an iPhone lol

I hear what you're saying but if I want a more natural photo I'll just use a camera or natural mode. When I'm watching vids and looking at pictures I want saturation.

Roberto90pe posted this in another thread.  It's a hardware problem.  https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS24Ultra/comments/1ajziic/closer_look_at_grainy_display_under_400x_om...

Exactly that's what I'm saying. They can keep the natural mode. That's completely fine but there are also other people out there in the millions who are used to the vibrant saturated colours. Why? Because Samsung has had it for the last 5 or more years and we are used to a certain type of look and appearance.

Keep the natural mode but also give us our normal vivid saturated look. I don't understand what the issue is.

Natural will stay how it is now and vivid mode will be VIVID

Bad news. This change is by design and not a technical issue. Reply from Samsung.
For me this is a step back. 1707233890114.jpg

I don't see the point of comparing phones.
If I like the look at what I have then I'm happy. Comparing seems pointless as all phone screens vary in colours. Even the iPhones use more than one manufacturer to make screens, and those vary in colours as well

Personally I find the S24 Ultra screen in natural setting to be more realistic with colours.
As a hobby photographer. I find more neutral colours much better for photography and my results are perfectly OK

To get a proper idea of what screen is better than another. You need to compare with a colour calibrated screen. It's just Personal preference otherwise.

If something bugs me about a phone I will exercise my option to return it. Something I've done a number of times over.

It is so sweet that you find the natural settings more realistic.  And how do you find the vivid mode which does not make any difference? Do you find it unnatural and overly saturated?
