I know there have been threads about this before.
Not all that long ago Smart select was much better to use. I would use Smart select to grab some material to paste elsewhere.
Now when I use it, the screen changes, it's really annoying to use.
Since it seems this feature won't go back to how it once was, what's an alternative way to easily copy and paste text?

Hi @davehorne
I sometimes use my finger to long hold over the text and then extend the capture area over the text again by using my fingers to move over the display I want to copy and paste.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Unfortunately, some text material doesn't lend itself to be grabbed in that manner, that's why I used Smart select until Samsung changed it.
It's been a while since I used it and I was just reminded how annoying this new Smart select is.

Are you using the newer one available via the side panel?
A new S-Pen side panel? I'm afraid I'm not following.
