Hi @L3tt1e
Welcome to the community forum.
What do you mean by camera roll? The Gallery App?
Media from WhatsApp will be shown, but it can be disabled on:
Open WhatsApp, Tap three dots menu, tap Settings, Chats, Toggle off "Media visibility"
If you wish any folder no to show on the Gallery, you could create a file called .nomedia in the directory to exclude it, the dot is part of the name of the file.

@L3tt1e Whatsapp images are downloaded automatically by default, if you not wish this can disable in Settings as mentioned. Guide here if you wish to download some photos manually. https://www.wikihow.com/Save-Photos-from-WhatsApp-to-Android-Gallery

If you mean the Gallery App, when you open the Gallery app you have three tabs at the bottom. Pictures, Albums and Stories next to the burger menu (the three parallel lines)
If you tap pictures, all pictures are there together, If you tap Albums then you have Camera, Downloads, etc, all folder with media. The Camera folder only has the pictures that you have taken and other media files will be shown on their respective album (folder)
Stories is a selection of pictures like what happened a year ago.

Hi @L3tt1e
Yes, it does make a lot sense. I am sorry I did not understand, thank you for clarifying.
What you describe is standard behaviour. When you tap the icon to review the picture that you have taken, it opens the Gallery App, and it will show all media the Galley App has found, usually ordered by date.
If you want to see only those taken with the Camera app, then tap Albums and then tap Camera. It will show only photos and videos taken with the phone camera.
By the way, you may also want to remove the Camera app cache in case there is some setting out of place.
To clear the cache of the Camera app open
Settings -> Apps -> Camera
On the bottom right tap "Force stop" and "OK"
On the main window, scroll down to Storage and on the bottom right tap "Clear Cache"
That should remove any cache which might have been causing the Camera app to misbehave.
