I updated from the S20+ to the S24+ a couple of weeks ago and everything transferred over with no issues, however in the last 24-48 hours I've lost my Keep Notes app which held lots of information that I desperately need.

I've tried to restore that app and it goes through the process but once it's "done", I open the app and the notes aren't there? Since I've been trying to do this, a Secure Folder has appeared but when I try to enter my PIN number to unlock the folder, it does absolutely nothing. I never created a Secure Folder and have never used it.

I just spent over an hour on the phone to Samsung but they said if it wasn't backed up then it cannot be restored. I'm confused by that as I had them a day or two ago and in relation to the Secure Folder, they have logged an error message for me.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to restore this information. I desperately need it back.

Keep Notes app is Google. It's Google you need to contact.

Have you definitely logged into the same Google account? Have you more than one Google account?

If you are still struggling and you only have one Google account try contacting Google customer services. They are very helpful in my past experience.

As for the secure folder? I don't understand this as this always needs set up. You can remove it.

Where did you get the phone from?

Thank you so much - I will contact Google tomorrow.

I do have 2 google accounts and have triple checked I'm in the correct account.

I've tried to remove or uninstall it, but it doesn't let me. The only option I have is forced stop, which I've done, with no change.

I got the phone direct from Samsung

sorry, I should've been clearer in that message.

I've tried to remove the Secure Folder and don't have any options other than forced stop

As Keep Notes is a Google product then, as long as you are logged into the correct account, they can also be accessed on a PC as they're stored centrally rather than on a device.
One thing to consider though - if you've accidentally deleted them then the deletion will sync across all platforms. You may be lucky and find them in Googles trash folder but if not then they're likely to have permanently gone.

Noooooohhhhhh.....

I'll try contacting Google and if they can't help, I'll have to accept they are gone forever 😔

When you delete notes in Keep, they first go in the bin, so they should be there unless you've emptied the bin but that's not something you'd do by accident I would say.
As someone else mentioned, try to open the Keep page via a browser, log in to your Google account and they should be the same notes.

I have used Secure Folder before and I'm sure you can uninstall it like any other app ( long press on the icon) and select uninstall. This should remove the Secure folder icon and delete everything in that area.

You can also go into Security and Privacy》More Security settings and you'll find Secure folder in there to have a look what's been set up.

I hope this helps.

Good look with your Google Keep Notes. You are getting some good advice. I'm sure they won't be deleted.

Hopefully still in the bin, but be quick, they only stay in there for 7 days before they are auto deleted!
