So, swapped everything across from S23 Ultra to S24 ultra but couldn't work out how to set custom message alert tone?

It doesn't work like One UI 6 where each app had categories....
Or rather it does but you have to turn them on!

Hidden in settings...
Settings,
notifications,
advance settings,
MANANGE NOTIFICATION CATEGORIES FOR EACH APP.

Only then can you go messages, 3 dots, settings, notifications, NOW categories shows up!

Why hide something like that away??

Notification categories magically appears!🙄🤣

Why take something that was intuitive and hide a simple setting?

Thank you for sharing this advice @Ziddy  👍

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

It seems customisation options get hidden or harder to modify with each 'new improvement' these days. I don't like it.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue where notifications are not appearing, even when "pop up allowed" is selected?

There used to be a permission page where you could allow an app like Facebook to access your music so you could set music as a 'tone'.
Seems you literally just have to put that 'music' into the notification folder and it allows it??

I can't find the option to set a specific sound/tone for incoming text messages in the Google Messages app. If I go through app settings it says configure in Messages. When I click on that it takes me to a settings menu within the Messages app which has a notification section, but when I click on that it just takes me back to the app settings menu and says configure in Messages again, so it's just going round in a loop. Any ideas? I just want to be able to distinguish a text message from a generic incoming notification. Thanks
