Unhappy customer.
Owned my S24 ultra now for 3 months there shouts, already getting the oleophobic coating coming off. Sad to say as I do the phone in one pocket keys/wallet in the other.
Another kick in the teeth being stung saying it's not covered because it's wear and tear yet other posts I see say their older Samsung's were repaired straight away, after owning for 2 months. Honestly what nonsense is this....
I pay for a premium device, flagship and my other branded android phone hasn't lost any screen coatings at all.
For shame Samsung, I'll not be purchasing another Samsung phone or tablet again.

I'll be definitely sticking with Android don't get me twisted but I'm just surprised that though I bought a premium screen a 3 months for general wear and tear isn't good saying that the screen has already started getting defects I'm honestly surprised saying that I've seen all the posts on the forum to say they've had the problem and had Samsung repair it there and then I spoke to a representative in the UK I said yeah sure they can repair it take it to your nearest centre and as soon as they said that and I explained what happened at the Samsung store they instantly back peddled and said we'll trust the stores judgement I'm like bro my screen is defective after three months that's not on if you are a TV that had really nice coatings that disintegrated in three months you'd be taking it back to the shop

So, you took it for repairs and it was refused?

I would think generally that the oleophobic coating would last longer than the three months you've owned your phone @Meowwentthedinosaur , however this is a coating and will wear away with general usage which is why this is not probably covered generally under the banner of the Samsung Manufacturing Warranty.
Personally I'm using a Spigen EZ Fit Glass Screen Protector, which has it's own oleophobic coating.
You could ask Samsung for a second opinion 🤔
If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask. 😎

Correct, I took it in, showed the store my screen problem (coating wearing off after 3 months of ownership) and they rejected it.
I am venting because it should be covered or at least it should not be wearing off so soon, I have noticed another spot today also. That is now 3 areas where the coating has gone.
I am just cofused why on other posts and devices (notably a post about a S22U) that got repaired the same day...

My experience with all of my Samsung phones is unlike your experience.
I've owned five or so Samsung phones starting with the Note 8 or 9. I only ever had micro scratching and one deep scratch which was only noticeable when the screen was off.
My wife has the S21+ and her screen is quite scuffed up but that was because she used a book case cover with plastic cards on the inner fold. Those cards rubbed back and forth over the screen and left very noticeable scuff marks on the screen but, then again, you only see those marks when the screen is off. (If she had to do this over again, she would not have placed plastic cards that would be in direct contact with the screen.)
As an aside, I occasionally use RainX on my phone's screen to help repel water. This is the same fluid used to keep your car windows polished and makes rain just slide off.
As Tourbillon De La Vie asked, could you supply a screenshot?
