Whoever decided to mess about with the navigation bar on the S24 should be fired.

You can't hide the hints button at the bottom now so you're stuck with a bar on screen at all times.
Even worse is the fact that the touch zones aren't in the usual spots left and right of the centre. They're god knows where because I can't see the hints, and both sides work as BACK and RECENT.

So it turns into button roulette when you press the area. And it's even worse if you have assistance turned on because then the corners activate Google Assistant.

You also can't use the buttons when the keyboard is active. So you've either got to go home or use the apps back navigation up in the top right if there's been one added.

It's now been fixed, if you use Good Lock

If after uninstall GoodLock settings these settings disappear(since this setting is removed from the system, not hidden) - so there is no built-in fix = that means there is no fix in general, a GoodLock=crutch.

What are you talking about?

Install GoodLock

Go to Make Up section of good lock

Install NavStar from that section

Open NavStar

Select Enable extra gesture settings

Go back to S24 settings, Display, Navigation bar and select Swipe gestures

If you press More options, you will have an option to choose between

* Swipe from bottom (aka the old swipe)

* Swipe from sides and bottom (aka the new swipe)

Yes, I totally agree. I hope with my full heart that Samsung brings back this feature, because it breaks my user experience literally everywhere, as it is an omnipresent UI that really should be customizable.

After looking at this I think I there's something else here that makes this worse. The screen boundary at the bottom is also much smaller with OneUI whatever we're on. This can be seen by element appearing on top or behind the buttons on the screen causing mis presses.

On previous versions like on My Tab S8 that hasnt been upgraded the screen had a reserved area that IU elements don't appear in, ever

Why should we have to install two 3rd party apps to get back the wonderfully intuitive simple funtionality we had before?
