Navigation Bar - Now A Mess

Whoever decided to mess about with the navigation bar on the S24 should be fired.

You can't hide the hints button at the bottom now so you're stuck with a bar on screen at all times.
Even worse is the fact that the touch zones aren't in the usual spots left and right of the centre. They're god knows where because I can't see the hints, and both sides work as BACK and RECENT.

So it turns into button roulette when you press the area. And it's even worse if you have assistance turned on because then the corners activate Google Assistant.

You also can't use the buttons when the keyboard is active. So you've either got to go home or use the apps back navigation up in the top right if there's been one added.

I'd suggest to also send this as feedback via your Samsung Members App..The more people that do the more likely Samsung will take note @Bryden

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

A little rant. I'd honestly rather have the swipe up gestures back than circle to search. The new gestures get in the way of app functionality when trying to swipe left to right or right to left. The delay getting to your open apps page is killer. Makes the s23 feel so much snappier. Seriously considering going back...

Why have samsung changed a great feature.
They could of easily kept the original swipe option baked in for people coming g from the S22 S23 U, why can't you get rid of annoying bar at bottom of screen....

I Totally agree. They could just keep the bar at the bottom being lines instead of icons.

While I don't like it I have already got use to it. Hopefully there will be an option at a later date to remove it, but not holding my breath.

Stupid ideea, now it is almost impossible to go back without interacting with what's on screen, including the mess with keyboard. Also a pain to go to recent apps. Dumb enough?

Please bring back swipe up gestures to One UI 6.1

I've just recently acquired an S24 Ultra, coming from an S22 Ultra.

The S24 series comes with One UI 6.1 and one important missing feature is the option to hide the navigation bar and use gestures instead. Please bring back this feature, I can't get used to the new Google gestures and I'm considering returning the phone since I can't use it. Disabling gestures and having the buttons always showing feels like a downgrade since they take too much screen space and I really prefer the clean look and feel of hidden buttons + Samsung gestures.
