Message alert keeps repeating.

If I have repeat notifications on my messages, it keeps repeating even when the message has been read, which is really rather annoying. 

Does anyone else have this problem?

If you have double checked all the relevant settings then try first clearing the cache of your messaging app @Flutterby24 

Long hold on the app and tap on the i and then tap on Storage and Clear Cache. 

And look in Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings > Toggle Off Repeat Notifications.

I've been having the same issue since I got the phone.

I keep turning off the repeat alerts and then trying again, and it still does it.

I guess I'm destined to have single alerts.

I think it may be something to do with transferring data from my iPhone.

I want them for messages, though, but they keep repeating all day and night, lol

Were you able to fix it ? I have same problem with s20fe. I tried clean cache and optimize apps. No luck. Trying to avoid clean install

Have you tried resetting your phone to factory settings? I also have this problem and I'm still looking for a solution. (also s20 FE)

I have this issue and it is a samsung s23 ultra.

My solution is. do not use google messages as your default messages - messenger.

Use samsung messages as your default messages - messenger.

Now this has stopped the nonstop alerts, I thought it was because of the enabled bubble conversations on google messages, it is not.

Chances are this is a google issue with their app and their app alone, as much as I love their emoji search on their app. To be rid of the nonstop alerts that I DO WANT. I have to settle with using Samsung Messages instead.

Let me know if anyone finds a work-around or maybe someone can get Google to fix their app. And please dont be the guy like above to tell us to turn off the repeat notifications to get it to stop, we're trying to get a fix so we can have this feature because we want it ON. 🤔

I have the exact same issue on my s20fe except it happens with ALL apps, and the repeat notification pops up the minute after deletion the very second it turns that minute, I get a message from twitch that there's a stream at 10 AM, I delete the notification at 3:33 PM (example time) and I get a notification that the streamer went live again at 3:34 PM, I click on it and it tells me they actually didn't go live and the stream ended 4 hours ago, I then get a notification at 3:35 PM and again same story, they're offline and have been for hours, I them get a message from my dad on facebook from 3 days ago that is just now being sent, I have already read it so I delete the notification and it pops up the second it turns the following minute, the issue is that after enough times I delete it the notifications stop and idk what it is
