I got One UI 7 on my Galaxy S24 Ultra and I hate every single change. It is such a big drawback for me, that it's almost a showstopper. I used Galaxy S phone since the S III and I have never been so disappointed.

Is there a way to remove this mess and go back to the previous UI?

You can go back to 6.1.1.

I did.  It requires a little bit of work, but it is certainly possible.

Step 1: Put smart switch on your PC and backup the phone to the PC. (You will need to go into developer mode and turn on USB Debugging to do this).

Step 2: Go to the tube that is you and search How to Downgrade Samsung Galaxy devices from Android 15 to Android 14.  There is a step by step guide. I have tried to post the link, but it gets removed.

Step 3: When you are done with step 2, it will be like getting a new phone, but back on 6.1.1.  Retore your apps from the backup you made on the compute.

Step 4: Remember, this is like getting a new phone, so you will need to re-enter google accounts/user name/passwords all manually, since smart switch won't do it.

Step 5: Search Apps, hit the filter on top that says "show system apps" then look for update.. there should be 3 update apps, put them all on silent and battery restricted.  Go back into developer options and DISABLE auto-update.

That should get rid of the mistake that is 7.0 put you back to 6.1.1 and disable the ability of the phone to update on its own.

These forced 'updates' are bang out of order, you hit update thinking your doing good to keep everything upto date then turns out your getting a UI update not security or other worthy updates instead its a UI updated FORCED upon you which changes everything & now becomes not your phone, FORCED configs/settings/preferences changes as well as ***** poor aesthetic changes, why not update the phone & make the UI aesthetics optional !? or at least fkn pre-warn us!!! ...this new UI 7 is terrible, my S23 Ultra runs like sh*t now too

It's not about customization its about the lag and the insane battery drain like this is so painful to see

Why would I buy another phone just because of an update that is a waste of money

This was forced on me today. I absolutely HATE it. I've made some changes already (after lots of googling to find answers!) to get things back to the way I want them to be, and had download lots of camera filters as the good ones just disappeared, but its still not right. I don't want Bixby and Gemini but I can't uninstall them. What's happened to my lovely world clock with sun and moon? I hate the new clock, its meh. Whats the point in forcing something on users when they're trying to change everything back (as we're not able to roll it back, heaven forbid users have any control over their own phone interface!) Ultimately, this doesn't feel like MY phone anymore. I have two Samsung phones so I'll try not to update the other phone for as long as possible to put this off.  I really hope Samsung folks are reading all this and take note.

Hi

I can't see text in notifications quick panel.

Brightness slider is made with visual error, so I have problem with using it.

I can't see battery percentage due to the same background issue.

When video on YouTube is in progress - I am distracted with weird animation in status bar.

And my tablet started to stutter, but it very fast yesterday. So it drains more battery.

I have big issues with that.

I work 14 years in ui ux industry and I can say for sure new interface update is a failure. It is difficult to use and it makes lots of devices slower.

Is it enough? Or you are paid to protect stupid samsung decisions?

we shouldn't have to go to all that effort & messing about, an update should be security & improvements not complete ui overhauls which make your phone totally foreign, may as well be a new phone
