Hi all , updated to UI 7.0 this morning, tbh I wish I hadn't, personally I don't like it , various things like the 4x1 weather widget is now too small , looks ridiculous on screen, battery icon is shocking, it's bigger than he rest of the icons so doesn't look right , battery icon is now looking randomly placed at the top right on the aod , it was centered at the bottom which looked better , very limited home screen grid so now there's a big gap between the dock and the lowest apps , no doubt other things will arise..... So far , massive hype about what I call a down grade !

Sadly not everyone likes updates. Can't please everyone all the time.

I generally find Android updates to be nothing major for the most part but people do get so excited about these things.
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

Honestly, unless you point them out, I barely notice the differences between One UI 4 all the way to 7, but I guess some people are very particular to these things. Functionality they're all pretty identical, so it's rare most cosmetic changes get to me though.

Literally about 5 minutes ago, received a text , on AOD couldn't see the text icon , had to double tap to actually see the icon was there top left ,

This is NOT a minor update.  It's a complete overhaul of the GUI.

In my opinion, the new UI 7.0 update is a disaster for simple users that don't need or want the majority of "improvements".

After the update my phone looked like an Apple.  Icons and widgets changed among many other things.  I went to YouTube and found a very detailed video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG9hlsIhNMg) that goes through all the changes (IMO... NOT improvements).  The video is 40 minutes long indicating how many changes Samsung & Google made to the UI.  I will never use 90% of the new features.  The problem I have is with what they did to the 10% that I do use.  In my opinion, UI6.1 is better and more user friendly.  The changes made in UI 7.0 are reminiscent of back when I first switched from Apple to Android back in 2018 and had to get used to the new GUI.  Updates are suppose to make your experience better not stressful.

Bottom line, I'm giving the new UI a week.  If I'm still dissatisfied I will dump my S24 and switch back to Apple.

I'm quite disappointed with the latest update. Placing the search icon at the bottom significantly affects usability, and having it disappear when viewing open tabs in the library is a major design flaw. Overall, the user experience has been frustrating, and I would rate it 1 out of 10. I hope the development team will consider addressing these issues in the next update. Thank you.

From what I've read it's been the most controversial gui ever. If I want an apple gui I will buy an apple. Plus accommodation of all the AI rubbish which most people hardly use apart from younger people maybe is ridiculous. Plus the AI features can't be turned off or uninstalled. Leading to higher battery drain in the background and maker older phones like s22 and s23 slower and less responsive. Phones that in some cases are literally 2 to 3 years old depending when you purchased my s23u will be 2 years old in October. Hence why I'm sticking on 6.1 as I cannot afford to have it ruined after less than 2 years of ownership! I will keep eye on future developments and updates of course and only update when I'm ready not when samsung says I should
