I have to use third party player VLC (which is dodgy) to play my music which I rip off my cds and transfer over from my laptop, or is there a switch in media player to save them as mp3, thankyou.

You may have the wrong version of the VLC app if you've copied it from your S6.

Go to Google Play Store and download the correct version.

Or it could be that VLC needs an update to work on 64 bit devices (S6 was 32 bit)

VLC is a new app I just downloaded but it can take information from your mobile, like most apps, although Plat Store has scanned it and says it is safe.
The issue is why can't an S24U play the tracks.

Ha ha, it's the embedded Samsung music on the S24U, is there another on it to play music.

Thank you all for your help.
Samsung no longer supports .wma files.
I'll need to convert them first then add them, just trying to keep it uncomplicated.
