Apart from faded colors on the screen, there is a sandy/grainy screen problem. There are many people affected by this issue on various forums. This problem is not caused by vivid mode. I don't know if this problem is hardware or software.

My problem was obvious at any brightness. The problem was evident in the dark gray parts. I took these photos in full light. The problem is evident in the dark gray parts in dark mode, creating a grainy appearance. It appears more, but at 50 percent brightness and below. The resolutions of the photos I uploaded are not bad, the screen looks exactly like this.

It is a hardware issue that cannot be fixed. If you have this defect return your phone.

Check out this post by a display scientist going in-depth on what's wrong and why you should return it.

Did changing the unit fix the issue?

I sent the new phone back without opening its box. I requested a refund. I can't take this risk anymore.

Is that dust under a screen protector? Or do you have a bright pixel already? 😬

I think this is a software problem/intention(?) that I noticed when comparing colours on Instagram with the iPhone. I like the way photos look on the S24 ultra (even better after today's update).

But what I noticed. I think Samsung's software is trying to make photos look even better by adjusting colours on the go. (I also see this on Google Gallery when I switch applications, the screen flickers a bit and the colours change).

On Instagram, the application has a black background that becomes a little grey after a few moments. Maybe the software doesn't always decide right whether  that thing we alctually have on display is  a photo or not. Sometimes it tries to update the colour of the UI.

After years of more saturated displays on the S21 and S23, I have to say that I like how photos look much better here, even if the colours on the icons are more washed out.
