It is a sad world where everyone talks about recycling and zero carbon, and yet a perfectly working device is then left unsupported ... but it seems that some things have a limited timespan for support.
The frontier watch was released in 2016... some 8 years ago... and is based upon the older Tizen operating system.
I guess there comes a time when samsung and other manufacturers have to assess the costs of supporting very old products... or removing them. Of course they usually only support 3 years by contract terms and some newer devices have had an extension to 5 years. To support a very old device probably means a lot of extra testing on every software release and I just wonder how many users of the 8 year old watch are still using it.
It is sad when the world becomes a throw away market, but it seems in your case this time may be up.
I would personally keep it... often each year trade in deals for 'any smartwatch' will accrue £100 off the newest model.
I feel your pain, but perhaps it is time to consider that upgrade
