Hi,

I updated my software to 6.1 on the Galaxy S24 Ultra  2 days ago, immediately after the update everything was fine, today the fingerprint sensor doesn't work at all. I restarted the phone countless times, I even closed it and left it closed for 10 minutes, then I restarted it and it still doesn't work, it keeps telling me "The fingerprint sensor is not responding. Try again later". I even tried to delete the fingerprints and add new ones but it won't let me tell me "Fingerprint sensor not working. If this keeps happening, restart your phone." I don't know what to do anymore.

Do you have any ideas?
Thank you

Hi @Cerasela91 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

I appreciate you have tried some troubleshooting steps.

Can you also try > Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

And there is a diagnostic test tool found in your Samsung Members App.

You can also send feedback via your Samsung Members App too for support.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Have you tried Settings / Device care / Diagnostics / Phone diagnostics / Fingerprint recognition?

As was suggested, clearing your cache is always a good thing to try.

Hello,

I've been experiencing the same issue for the past three days with the same device. If you happen to find a solution, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share it.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion, I have tried but it was unsuccessful, i tested all the sensors and at the end of the test I was told that the fingerprint sensor was not working properly.

Now I am saving everything I have on my phone and I will perform a factory reset, if even after the factory reset won't work I belive I will need to contact customer service and send it to be fixed by a professional.

I've done lots of research about it and I discovered that so many people have so many different issues after they updated the software to 6.1.

Thank you

This is why I never rush to install updates. I also see people complaining of the phone stuttering and battery life being degraded after updating. I guess I won't be updating this phone anymore unless the next update I see positive feedback only. It's not even a joke that after a certain amount of updates, the phone just gets worse. Kinda sad we seem to have reached that point just a little over half a year into this phone's life. I wish the trend wasn't to push a phone out every year and they'd instead focus on actually delivering ready products instead of failing to fix them through updates even 6 months in...
