I have also set alternate facial appearance but still it doesn’t recognize me. Never had facial recognition problems on my apple 14 pro. Just bought this phone a week ago and it’s embarrassing.

You could enable the "Brighten screen" option in biometric settings.

Done with all these experiments and as I mentioned lightening is not the issue here its clear as day outside and s24 ultra refuses to recognize me. Brighten screen was turned on by default.

Have you also created an alternative appearance which I find also helps @Prabh1619

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I also have similar issue with facial recognition.

Never had any issues with my iPhone 12, which is quite embarrassing for Samsung who's flagship model struggles with basics!

Rather than focusing on pointless zoom options, should have focused on basic phone security and facial recognition!

Hope some software upgrade can fix this...now I am realising why apple users constantly show superiority over samsung!

This is quite subjective. Some people use facial recognition, some do not. For some, it is working flawlessly, for some it is not. Every company will have something which is better than another's, but again this is down to opinions. In any case, if you are in the return period, you can always return your device or get a replacement.

Thank you for your comment and understanding what I feel. I have been a samsung user from 2009 and my friends and family constantly asked me to switch to iphone which I never did until last year. I used Iphone 14 pro for a year and I liked a few things and missed a few features I loved in samsung. So I decided to switch back now and get the latest samsung phone but it breaks my heart that they were actually right. I definitely notice the software difference even while using google maps I see how the transition is lagging in samsung but its so smooth in iphone when u zoom out and press recenter.

As a loyal samsung customer I just want samsung's developers to read this and work on improving their software and work with their third party app developers to make their app run smooth and perfect in android as it does on iphone. Even snapchat is missing features in android like bounce-back or video stabilization like they have in iphone. Don't know why they have these differences. Android users deserve same features too.

I'll tell you what I did. I put my phone on a phone holder, sat infront of it in a chair with my face 55cm away, added my face in alternative appearance. Locked my phone, did not move at all, and still it says face does not match. Then i moved closer to my phone to try again and it works. It does not recognize my face from 55cm away but does it if I bring it closer. I can't bring it close my face everytime I need to unlock it.
