I used to charge to just 80 percent but now charge overnight to 100 percent.
My wife owns a S21+ and she charges every night to 100 percent and her phone is still going strong; she typically charges every night to 100 percent.
I buy a new phone every year, so for me, this isn't an issue.

But, overall, I'd say it's more being overly careful if you want to be nit picky about the battery. I always charged overnight before to 100% and never had battery issues. Only takes an hour for a 100% charge these days so I wouldn't worry, worst case scenario at least they are replaceable 3 years down the line. Any major issues before that length of time then you can safely assume it's a manufacturing issue.

@MarkBatch I also fully charge from around 15-20% and works fine for me. Whilst charging to 80/85% will maximise Battery life it does depend on how often you upgrade (if have new phone every 1/2 years will not be an issue), it also depends if you will have sufficient charge though should be less problematic with the S24 Plus.

As you can see people have their own habits when it comes to how one charges their phone.
I'd say go with your gut feeling @MarkBatch
If your wanting to lengthen the battery health then charge to 80% but have a battery pack or wire with you incase you exhaust the battery.

I have a Note 3 that the battery still works perfectly fine and it has been charged to 100% all the time.
