I want to post this here but if it's not allowed, please delete this thread.

I am just posting here hoping to get more opinions, although someone gave me very useful advice, I still cannot clear the partition cache.

Yesterday I managed to do clear partition cache on Note20U and I wanted to see if I can do it on S24U and I was unsuccessful.

The USB C is broken on my laptop. I have tried to use the charger and the earphones but it didn't work.

I have followed the steps accordingly, I have turned off the phone, than I pressed simultaneously the side key and the volume up key and when the Samsung logo came on the screen, I kept pressing the volume up button but every time my phone turned on and the reboot menu did not come up on the screen.
After this I turned off the phone and I used my Note20U as a back up phone today and when I came home I charged my phone turned off and up to 90% and before I turned it on again, I thought I would try again to do partition cache clearing but I had the same result.

This time I have used a USB to USB C cable, which I am pretty sure it's a Samsung USB cable from an older phone. My phone started to charge from this cable and I followed the steps for clearing the partition cache.

I have looked in the menu of the phone but there I couldn't find an option to clear the cache of the phone but I remember I had this possibility on older phones. I wouldn't mind to clear the cache manually as long as I can get rid of the residue cache.
In a way I am worried if I turn on an off my phone so many times will it affect the battery life making it to drain faster.

I am generally happy with the performance of the battery and I would like to keep it on good performance for a long time.

I wonder if I am doing something wrong when I try to clear the partition cache or if my phone just cannot do it.

Thank you for any advice you can give.

I have used my own laptop and USB to USB C cable instead of USB C to USB C cable. I might try to use a friend's laptop after all.

Yes. Maybe some improvements will come for this as well.

I personally would ignore those suggesting alternatives to the correct process. You have a lovely (read expensive) device so don't want to damage it.

USB C to USB C is recommended through a laptop. 😉
I am not employed by Samsung nor do I receive any remuneration as a Samsung Members Star.

My device is an S25 Ultra.

I can confirm that it works with two phones on One UI 6.0. My 2 S22 Ultra are done with each other. I have not done the S24 Ultra because I have not felt the need.

I could not boot mine into recovery mode from a Samsung 25W charger (USB-C to USB-C) but it works flawlessly from my aging PC (USB-A to USB-C). I seem to recall that I could boot older Samsung phones into recovery from a charger though (cant remember which phones). I have heard too that connecting two Samsung phones works but haven't been able to try that on my S24U as don't currently have another Samsung device. Hope this helps a little and good luck

Hi @Star_girl

Do not feel bad, it is very tricky some times. It happens to us all. Youtubers get it right all the time, but they do not show how many times they fails.

It should work with another phone. I use two phones most of the times when booting into the recovery partition.

Try releasing both buttons when the Samsung logo appears. Rebooting the phone will not damage the battery. Rebooting is one the things recommended for keeping the phone performing well.

On Device care -> Auto optimization -> Auto restart  there are two toggles.

Restart when needed

Restart on schedule.

A reboot usually get rids of things left in memory. It should not affect the phone.

Thank you. I have another old laptop with USC port, I will try on that one. I will wait until the update though. I only wanted to see if I can improve the performance of the phone even more, because I have been transferring data via the Switch App from phone to phone.
