Applying a foil screen protector ... I'm an idi*t

Had I watched the official Samsung installation video, I wouldn't be here admitting I'm an idi*t.  (The word i_d_i_o_t will not display in this forum when typed normally.)

The Samsung video shows a side view which makes the installation much clearer, at least to me, to understand.  I'll chalk this up to a learning experience.

I'll attach the official Samsung video and the time mark that would have made this perfectly clear to me.  (The video I watched was created by another person and the camera angle was not from the side.)

It's the 60 second mark that now made everything clear to me.  I hope someone learns from my mistake.

Well, I'm really fussy how I do my screen protectors.
But I found no matter how careful I was, I still couldn't get a decent install.
I used the second one as well, and it was terrible as well.
So, I'm sticking with the Ringke one for now.
Same sort of installation. But the Ringke one is a better quality protector I feel and seems to go one without the issues. Plus, it covers more of the edges where the Samsung one has a gap on either side

I used foil protector on my other phones because the screen was curved. Last time I installed a TPU protective film on the Note20U and it was perfect but when I woke up in the morning there was a big bubble in the middle of the screen😂but well, I haven't removed the original protective film witch I am not going to. Now on the S24U I use tempered glass with came in a bundle with TPU case and camera protection very cheaply from a Chinese retailer from Amazon. It's amazing how the anti glare resists the tempered glass, but I also think it might be differently made for this phone. I am not using finger tip recognition.

I used the free Samsung protector. The 1mm or so gap from the edge of the screen was too annoying for me. I then put on on a tempered glass via Amazon but this reduced the effectiveness of the anti reflection and fingerprint was slower (reset it etc..).

I have decided to enjoy the phone in all it's glory without a screen protector.

I would never go without screen protector, even if the phone is advertising sturdy. I heard some people scratched the screen even with the SPen. There are some good screen protectors. If you are really particular about screen protectors this one was advertised on YouTube by one of the people who made reviews and he said that he was using it and it was good and antiglare. I went with Chinese because i wanted to save money.💰

I did not even think about the S Pen scratching it. The Banks does look good as it covers the whole screen. £11 for one is not worth it especially as people bodge the first one up lol...I have put a Chinese one from Amazon on again now that u mentioned the S Pen.

I opted for the Spigen Ez Glass Screen Protector.

Don't blame you 😉

If I ended up with a micro scratch I'd never unsee it 👀
