We cannot use the full 200 mega pixel resolution on the main camera and the 50 megapixel resolution on the 5x zoom camera in other apps. I believe that his breaks the Digital Markets Act. Whilst there is ttechnically little we can do about it in the UK now Samsung needs to rectify this immediately or face face fines.

Is it not the developers of 3rd party apps that need to rectify...?

Hi there 👋, unfortunately some apps won't support 200MP or 50MP or pro raw, or expert raw images or video, to their platforms, and the main input they will get is 12MP as standard, let's say if you send a picture through Facebook messenger, and other person receives it as low quality, as far as I know now most apps refuses 200MP or even 50MP, you should see the apps, because it's the apps who restricted it.

I'm specifically thinking about 3rd party camera apps such as gcam which do support raw etc. Would like to get some decent high resolution photos - I'm fed up with samsungs rubbish camera app. I mean have you seen the laughably bad results from the 5x lense ? Use gcam and the difference is amazing, samsung just cannot do detail.

No samsung (and indeed most other manufacturers) block access to the unbinned image stream. Only the samsung camera app can access it. If developers could work around it (and they cant on samsung devices) it would require root anyway.
