Left is S21U 12MP / Right is S24U 12MP. Honestly on my pic, the S24U produced colors close to 90-95% of what I am looking at, whereas the S21U is too bright.

Of course, I know it's subjective. And do not get me wrong, I am sure Samsung will make amends 😁 but that should not be the norm is what I am saying.

Honestly speaking, looking at the two pictures, the left is more pleasant to my eyes. The right looks very oversaturated with too much yellow warmth. I've always preferred the colder tones in Samsungs ISPs. That's not to say the S24U picture isn't more accurate here, but lighting really does play a big part in our perception of natural colours.

S24U 12MP / 50MP - the 50 is close to the 12MP of the S21U, but again, the color representation is not correct. It is too bright with less saturation

Yep, a fine case of more tweaks are needed.

The funny thing is that after taking the pic, I opened the image in the gallery right away and it looked fine, then at the bottom of the gallery where the thumbnail is, I saw the Samsung circles spinning and then it got brightened up and with less color. So their post-processing was applied at that time. And that got the image wrong. So yes, indeed they need to step up and tweak this 100% 😁

This is bloody ridiculous. First one is 12mp. Second is 50mp. Where has all this green come from?? 20240301_224725_1000033869_1709333248.jpg20240301_224720_1000033870_1709333253.jpg

This is why I shoot in raw format. By the way you could use expert raw/promode and shoot at 24mp or 50mp. Not sure about 200mp.

This will give you control over the white balance, sharpness and colour grading. Saturation on its own can discolour things. Individual colour channels are better tweaked on their own. Reducing and increasing channels let's you create a more balanced look.

Only downside is you are going to need lightroom and lens profiles to fix any spheric distortion. You can also try the presets and adjust to taste.

If I can use it anybody can.

If you still want to use jpeg/heif processing turn off the scene enhancer. Computational photography doesn't always get it right.

I know people want instant gratification and social media ready photographs.

To be fair, every camera sensor has a look to it. In general, everybody is using iPhone stills as a benchmark . Really you should be making comparisons to a compact camera.

In the case of too much green, it maybe that the red pixels are not being processed properly. Photographing a colour chart would confirm which part of the pallette is being misrepresented.

In technical circles, you are looking for 18% grey (256,256,256 x 0.18 which equals grey in 8-bit rgb). 50% grey would be 124. I'm going to cite this information further.

Sorry for complicating things although I hope my brainfart does explain some peculiar discolouration.

To be fair, Samsung should fix this so you as a casual snapper don't need to worry about this sort of thing.

Guess you are not aware that their RAW is also majorly effed up.
